UFC 225

I'm not a UFC guy, but I saw Colby Covington's fight in Brazil last year.... never knew who he was until his post fight interview. Skip to 0:30....

A few days later he apologized saying "I would like to formally apologize to any filthy animal I offended by comparing them to my hosts in Sao Paulo."

Covington is an underdog tomorrow night... versus a Brazilian. Might be interesting.

He is actually the favorite.

And apparently Romero barely missed weight and that fight becomes a non title fight.

I’m most excited to see CM Punk in his 2nd fight. He was an extremely popular WWE wrestler who quit the business and wanted to fight. The thing is, he’s a and got his azz kicked in his first fight. Now everyone wants to see it happen again. He refuses to just come back to wrestling even though he would make a boatload of cash.

Woodley will beat his ass, then he will complain that he had to fight a wrestler. Wash, rinse repeat. Too many MMA'rs complain about wrestlers.

Covington is a wrestler himself

Guy weighs in 1 pound over weight, they give him 2 hours to lose it. so he can weigh in at 185 and then gain 15 by the fight and weigh 200

dumbest thing in all of sports.

Agreed. Seems like they should step on the scale as they enter the ring. Not a week before it.

Or just get two guys who want to fight get in the octagon and fight and forget all the weight nonsense. 3 weight classes is all you need. Shrimps, normal dudes, big dudes, simple.

They typically weigh in what, Friday evening? and fight is late saturday. They started a few years ago during boxing telecasts to have the boxers actual weight, before he enters the ring. i've seen as much as 20 pound gain.

Woodley sucks. I'd rather watch soccer than his boring a$$ fight.

That's how it used to be. Then states started banning UFC so they had to implement weight classes to survive.

Some of the 170s in MMA will be as much as 200 on fight night.

Sure you could have them weigh in before they get in the cage. Then what if they miss? You will still have guys trying to fight in a lower class than they should.

There is no perfect way of doing it.

Because it is not fair to the guy who actually made weight to just say hell you got close enough.

WTF is the UFC thinking putting CM Punk on a card, especially the main card of a PPV? What a focking embarrassment. Just as bad as when they had Kimbo Slice.

His name is Punk. I hope he wins.... but damn... "punk"? Tough childhood.

Do you think The Undertakers name is undertaker? Punks name is Phil Brooks. Man that was cringe, dude looks terrible. Also it’s funny he keeps saying how done he is with wrestling yet uses his stage name and wwe theme song.

He fights under his wresting stage name? I have a lot less sympathy for him now.

I guess Dana was pissed at Jacksons performance against Punk and said he would never let him fight in the UFC again (Jackson)

Anyone see the why or what he was pissed about?

I'd assume it was because he just toyed with Punk for 3 rounds instead of finishing him which he easily could have done.

You have to remember hes only being given a spot on the main card because he was a wrestling star. He is really sour on the wrestling business but Im betting they only let him fight on the condition he uses his wrestling gimmicks that make him recognizeable. Hes a sideshow to get eyes on the product that normally wouldnt watch. He is now 0-2 and even Dana White says he shouldnt fight anymore and is done in the UFC.

Yes he was toying with Punk and at one time had him in the ground punching him without even looking. Nothing crazy but enough for Dana to completely eviscerate him in the presser.

Which is pretty funny considering Dana is the reason that spectacle was even on the card. He has noone to be pissed at but himself.
