Drafted 10th. Not that happy, but explosive potential

Recommended Posts

So in a 12 team full PPR QB heavy league (6pt TDs + distance bonus + yardage), I had to pick from the 10th spot. Here's what I ended up with:

Luck - Brady(who fell so far I HAD to take him)

Randle - Ivory - Spiller - Hillman - TColeman - Knile Davis - David Johnson

Cobb - JMatthews - JBrown - ERoyal

Kelce - Eifert

Scobee

Jets

NBC.com predicts a 1-13 record and me finishing dead last out of 12. LOL I predict one or two lottery tickets hit, and I make a blockbuster trade of some sort with my depth to make it into the playoffs and possibly make some noise.

I think that Ivory and Randle both are going to be better than many think. I hope. Really, really hope.

looks bad

That, as they say, is why they play the game. Last year in three leagues I won two and took 2nd after being fluked out of first. But I am not that happy with this team; that's certain.

Mensa...Observe my draft thread that you may have already seen. Take note of it briefly cuz I will draw parallels to your team throughout this post. They are shockingly similar. Like seriously scary. Swap Ivory for Martin as our steady but unsexy starter. My league also has 6pnt long td bonus.

It is SCARY how similar our situations are. We both drafted late, took Luck in a QB heavy scoring league, Got a top wr and paired him with JMatt, got a bunch of low rate RBs including Hillman that people will laugh at, got Kelce and John b and Royal! That is a scary amount of parallels my friend!

Ok now on to the team...You are going to have a lot of idiots look at this team, not see a bonafide RB1 and say you suck. Do not listen to them. Some guys in my league drafted 1 good RB, then 3 completely worthless ones and think they are better than me at RB. They are sadly mistaken. LOTS of things happen during a season that flips rankings on their head. Our teams are loaded at every position besides RB and we have room to grow at the RB position. Our opponents will enjoy staring down Luck together with 2 top 12 wrs and a top 5 TE each week. All we need is a couple RBs to play decently or god forbid, break out, and we will be absolutely powerhouses.

I absolutely love my team and my stable of non RB1s and you should feel good too. It's built for the long haul and has room to grow.

This is a working mans fantasy football team . You play the right match ups and you can win more games then one . I see like the poster above upside to this team . Good luck .

I like your spin on it, and that voice is the same one that is in my head as well as I progressed through the draft. As if we didn't need to draw even more parallels between your situation and mine, @ 2nd pick where I got Cobb, OBJ was available and staring right at me and I passed on him to pick Cobb, who I think may catch passes until he pukes this year.

LOL

Now here's another possible opportunity: in my league, neither Brandon Coleman or Marvin Jones were drafted. Can anyone make the argument for dropping someone on my team to pick up either one of these guys?

Thats a tough one. I love Coleman but hes a real wait and see kind of sleeper. Id normally say drop Eifert since I dont like backup TE but Eifert is my main backend TE1 sleeper as well. The only other guy id consider would be Knile Davis but you prob drafted him as a lotto ticket and his potential worth is higher than Colemans. Another possibility is try to trade Brady and someone else in a package now that the suspension is lifted. You wont get much for Brady alone but in a 2 for 1 type deal you can get a nice player and a free roster spot. Maybe see what the Charles owner needs and include Davis. The trick is anyone with a good QB will not be interested at all, find the guys who waited last to pick QB.

Pretty much exactly what I thought when I heard that Brady won the appeal.
