himmystyles 29 Posted October 17, 2018 Just cut him; are u guys doing what u can to hold him or just letting him go if u need a spot?
weepaws 2,452 Posted October 17, 2018 Lol he will be praised as a fourth round pick again next season. He can’t be worth even a roster spot. He’s now the third best wr on the Raiders, and even that’s questionable.
Fearsome 22 Posted October 17, 2018 If he gets dealt, anywhere, before the deadline his value skyrockets. Buy very low.
Phil Simms 11 127 Posted October 17, 2018 Nobody is paying a 1st for him, and I doubt his value skyrockets either
tanatastic 2,061 Posted October 17, 2018 Nobody is paying a 1st for him, and I doubt his value skyrockets either This, he’s not some stud who isn’t getting chances, he’s just not that good.
kilroy69 993 Posted October 17, 2018 If he gets dealt, anywhere, before the deadline his value skyrockets. Buy very low. This is not true. Moving teams is not gonna make him a good wr. He is just a product of the system at Alabama
BobSanders_33 127 Posted October 17, 2018 As a Cooper owner I understand the frustration but the question is always who are you getting after the drop? To say Cooper "isn't good" is a bit of an overstatement. Lets just forget about last week. No WR in the league is getting up after that hit. Sucks loosing a player in game but it happens. He has put up 2 great games and 3 absolute duds. He has skills and has proven it on the field. The Raiders are not going to trade him (somewhat unfortunately). After giving a 3rd for Bryant they would look like fools accepting anything less than a 2nd, they won't get that. I also think the Raiders have to make a business decision to get him going. They have to have faces on the billboards for their move to LV. I don't think Carr is going to excite anyone. The franchise is a dumpster fire.
BobSanders_33 127 Posted October 17, 2018 This is not true. Moving teams is not gonna make him a good wr. He is just a product of the system at Alabama Not true: Had 83 receptions, 1,153 receiving yards and five touchdown catches and became the third player in NFL history to have at least 70 receptions, 1,000 receiving yards and five touchdown catches in each of his first two career seasons, joining ODELL BECKHAM JR. (2014-2015) and MARQUES COLSTON (2006-2007)
jrokh 567 Posted October 17, 2018 Coop was just dropped in my big money league for Goodwin and I don't think anyone picks him up
jimaveli 119 Posted October 17, 2018 Package trade for anything else. If not and you have a Goodwin or Kirk to get, drop him and enjoy your new and improved Cooper-free fantasy life.
ralphster 274 Posted October 17, 2018 I still like his talent and will hold him in the one dynasty league I have him.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted October 17, 2018 Yep next year some narrative will still get him drafted in the top 5 rounds somehow. His value barely dipped by one round after one of the all time terrible seasons last year.
kilroy69 993 Posted October 17, 2018 Not true: Had 83 receptions, 1,153 receiving yards and five touchdown catches and became the third player in NFL history to have at least 70 receptions, 1,000 receiving yards and five touchdown catches in each of his first two career seasons, joining ODELL BECKHAM JR. (2014-2015) and MARQUES COLSTON (2006-2007) you got stats. That's good. Here are mine. Cooper led the league in drops (18) and drop rate (20.0 percent) in his rookie season (2015), but then seemed to get past the issue in 2016, dropping only four passes. In 2017, Cooper again led the league in drop rate (17.2 percent). Not only are these numbers bad, but theyre historically bad. Since 2007, there have only been three players to see at least 100 targets and post a drop rate of 17 percent or worse: Braylon Edwards (2007 and 2008), Greg Little (2011), and Cooper (2015 and 2017). He is far more Braylon than he is OBJ and moving him out of the perfect weather in Vegas/California is not going to help him. Sorry.
oldtimer 84 Posted October 18, 2018 I think if you own him in a dynasty, you have to hold him until the hype builds again next August, then deal him. Right now, his value is beyond bad and you aren't going to get anything in return. After the season, Dynasty owners are always looking for a bounce back player, or someone to take a chance on. Someone will give you something, and that's always better than nothing.
Funky Doc 7 Posted October 18, 2018 The Oakland OL is hurting. They are starting two rookies at tackle and K.Osemele (LG) has been out. Carr doesnt have enough time to scan the field and was running for his life the last game. Some info from the last game courtesy of @GipsySafety: Derek Carr had 31 pass attempts and had 6 sacks and 3 scrambles. Of 40 dropbacks (excl penalty plays), 9 of them (22%) resulted in no pass attempt being made. Almost 1 out of every 4 dropbacks are disrupted to the point where the offense cannot even attempt a pass. Carr had to throw the ball within 2.5 - 3 seconds. How many progressions can you make before checking down? At any rate the situation in Oakland is not good. Hopefully that changes after the bye.
jimaveli 119 Posted October 18, 2018 Good info. The thing is: how will it change after the bye if the injured folks do not make it back and the current starters do not play better? The only hope is that the offense pivots to a quicker paced something or other with Beast potentially out for multiple weeks.
Funky Doc 7 Posted October 18, 2018 The only hope is that the offense pivots to a quicker paced something or other with Beast potentially out for multiple weeks. Pretty much this. Quick passing game, leave the TE in to help, and in my opinion, they should add in more plays for Jalen Richard. He can make plays in space.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted October 18, 2018 I cut him for Goodwin in the only league where I own him. I figure he'll be available next week if I want him back. I cut him once already was able to get him back. He's not a particularly hot commodity.
weepaws 2,452 Posted October 19, 2018 Oh my soul, what a steal. Congrats Goodwin for Cooper.
Canadianfan 76 Posted October 19, 2018 If he gets dealt, anywhere, before the deadline his value skyrockets. Buy very low. kind of agree , WRs traded midesason will briefly increase trade value until the first game played with new team. Production always falls initially. Usually takes the rest of the year and a training camp to learn the offense.
