Bills04 45 Posted April 10, 2016 Former Saints DE Will Smith was shot and killed Saturday night in New Orleans. Smith was 34. Police believe the shooting was the result of a road rage incident. Smith reportedly exchanged words with another driver after his Mercedes G63 was rear-ended by a Hummer H2, causing Smith to strike a third vehicle. Smith's wife was hospitalized after being shot twice in the right leg. The Hummer driver and shooting suspect is now in police custody. Smith spent 10 seasons with the Saints, appearing in one Pro Bowl and winning a Super Bowl in 2009. He leaves behind a daughter and two sons. It's a devastating loss for the NFL. Our thoughts are with Smith's family. =================================== THIS is why I'm always careful when I'm driving. If someone is acting like a douche, I either hit the gas and go way in front of them, or brake, and let them get in front of me. YOU NEVER KNOW who is in the car driving erratically and if he is armed. What a loss for his children. Be careful out there.

giraldi02 470 Posted April 10, 2016 My dad has always been overly aggressive on the road and my brother and I always feared that this would happen to him. Its just not worth it with the amount of crazy people out there. I understand that there's an inherent anger if someone hits you, but there is a reason its called a traffic accident. Such a sad loss of life for something so trivial. I really feel bad too for Pierre Thomas who was with Smith. I can't begin to imagine the sorrow and pain of that type of experience

ralphster 274 Posted April 23, 2016 Read tolkien 4:20 - thou religious postings shall not pass. Seriously is it too much to ask you to avoid posting your dogma on a ff bored weepaws? weepaws 2,459 Posted April 26, 2016 I think when someone dies it's appropriate. But thanks for that advice.
thePRO 78 Posted April 26, 2016 Religion and politics don't belong on a fantasy football bored. This is known. Can't the same be said for this thread then? What does Will Smith have to do with FF? Was he going to come out of retirement and play RB this year? Is Drew Brees so sad about the news he's going to retire? No, then who cares. Ignore his post if you don't want to read something that includes religion. Guarantee many morons pray to god about their FF teams anyway.
ralphster 274 Posted April 26, 2016 I dig your post and reasoning thePRO, and I agree with it. My own post came from an intolerance of weepaws posting religious thoughts, opinions and prayers over a long period of time - pretty much since it joined. I don't think I should have to ignore a pattern of dogma related content posted by a zealot who can't separate its religion from this FF bored.

I can easily ignore this post as PRO mentions because it has nothing to do with FF. But the same content obviously happens on FF threads as well. I can obviously block the poster but not having a general policy can lead to this type of poster multiplying and turning off people to the site.
IGotWorms 3,310 Posted April 27, 2016 It's not a big deal guys. Dude died, it's a perfectly appropriate time to post something religious if that's your bag. No worse than posting thoughts and prayers or oh no that's awful

No worse than posting thoughts and prayers or oh no that's awful I think, in this instance, if you take it in isolation, you are right. However, weepaws does almost nothing but post religious comments on these boards and him doing so now smacks of opportunism; It's as if he's using this tragedy as cover for his obvious obsession with spreading the "Word", and you are letting him. If I thought his comments were genuine I would take them in stride and admire the intent to show empathy, but based on his rhetoric elsewhere, I don't buy it.
