Vikings4ever 496 Posted May 23, 2017 Most of the time, I think the unwritten rules are stupid, and there's nothing wrong with a little emotion for a big play. But that was just a big FU to the pitcher, and is asking for a high hard one next at bat.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted May 23, 2017 A real man shakes it off and goes back to work. He doesn't plan petty revenge and allow a guy a free base because a guy flipped a bat. That's poosy shat and anyone defending it is a poosy as well.
NewbieJr 540 Posted May 23, 2017 Definitely a fastball planted securely in the ribs next time up.

A fastball in the ribs will teach him real quick. I have zero issue seeing it looked to be college or higher.

I'm in his head living rent free if I see him throw that kind of tantrum. I'll take my base, thanks. I know it works both ways, but that's just not my mentality. Ball now, cry later would be my motto if i wasn't such a poosy in real life.

There is a code to live by regardless what outsiders feel or believe.

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted May 23, 2017 According to the Twitter, next two batters got beaned. That is not proportional response. Hit the next guy up if you want, but why put a guy in scoring position?
vuduchile 1,941 Posted May 23, 2017 I don't like either side of this argument. Poor sportsmanship and retaliation for same are equally stupid.
parrot 789 Posted May 23, 2017 I've always thought hitting batters was pretty dumb, but this is one time it might have been called for. Save the bat flips for a walk-off win, not for a homer where your team is still getting trounced, doosh.

NewbieJr 540 Posted May 23, 2017 That is not proportional response. Hit the next guy up if you want, but why put a guy in scoring position? Depends on the score. In this case, maybe one or both of the other guys was pissed off enough to tell the dooshbag to stop putting his teammates at risk by being an ass hole. Although, baseball is far and away the most boring of the major sports, I do love how it polices itself and keeps guys like this from becoming the norm. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted May 23, 2017 I think that the ump talked to him right after he touched home. The bat almost hit the ump and he is probably lucky that he didn't get tossed. BTW - that is a HS game.
NewbieJr 540 Posted May 23, 2017 I think that the ump talked to him right after he touched first. The bat almost hit the ump and he is probably lucky that he didn't get tossed. BTW - that is a HS game. Makes sense. That batter is probably his school's quarterback too. Dates the head cheerleader. Thinks his sh1t doesn't stink. He's actually peaking right now at 18. It's all downhill from here. A fastball in the ribs would be just what the doctor ordered.
