nospk 230 Posted July 11, 2018 They also started the season a week earlier this year, so they will have played close to 100 games at the break.

Herbivore 905 Posted July 11, 2018 you'll have to excuse him. He's one of the bigger Red Sox jock sniffers out there. They aren't even the best team in the division, this year. Yes they are. as nospk just posted, its the number of games they have played...their % right now is .688, lower than the Mariners and Yanks seasons.

Herbivore 905 Posted July 11, 2018 as I posted, does it change the question? did I say they would have the best winning % ever at the A/S break no, but you added the Yanks in post #4, who definitely had less wins than the Mariners, but had a higher win %...so you know it doesn't mean much. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted July 12, 2018 Sox at 65 wins with a 4 game series at home coming up against Toronto after their 9th straight win. They have played 8 more on the road thus far than at home. Not sure they can keep this pace, but 106 or 107 wins is not out of the question and still not winning the division. Sad. To be fair, the worst 3 teams in baseball are also in the AL. The NL is much more competitive top to bottom. Just because the top teams in the NL don't have doormats to beat up on, doesn't make them worse teams.
