The Lions should probably hire Charles Rogers or Joey Harrington to escort these bums around. Not like they couldn't use the work!

(RotoWire) Adrian Peterson was arrested for resisting arrest in Houston on Saturday morning, Houston Chronicle writer Jerome Solomon reports.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/19526244/adrian-peterson-arrested-for-resisting-arrest-in-houston

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson ran into some trouble in Houston early Saturday morning. He was arrested for resisting arrest by the Houston Police Department, who confirmed to CBSSports.com the identity of the Vikings player.

According to the HPD's website, Adrian Lewis Peterson (born March 21, 1985) was arrested for "resisting arrest/search" and booked on $1,000 bond.

Peterson was charged with resisting arrest (the HPD did not have any further information as to why Peterson was arrested) and released at 10 a.m. local time on Saturday on $1,000 bond.

Something that seems odd:

It's obviously too early to pass any judgment on Peterson for the arrest. However, it sounds like there could be concrete details of the incident revealed: Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that "the incident culminating in Peterson's arrest was captured by one or more surveillance cameras."

Florio reports that Peterson was with his girlfriend and some family members at a Houston nightclub.

"Peterson wanted to get some water before he left, but an officer told Peterson that he needed to leave," Florio writes per a source. "Some words apparently were exchanged, but Peterson eventually walked to the exit with one of the club's bouncers."

According to Florio, "one of the officers then jumped on Peterson's back from behind and tried to take him down." It reportedly took several more police officers to actually arrest Peterson.

Also while i was looking around, i stumbled across these...It took me a little while to research them, so i waited to post them...Im not sure about the Moreno and Smith arrests...they occured after their team's offseason began, but not before the league's offseason began. So maybe they dont count.

Knowshon Moreno (Feb 1)

http://www.denverpos..._medium=twitter

Moreno, 24, was pulled over Feb. 1 while driving a Bentley at about 70 mph on Interstate 25 near Quincy Avenue and Union Avenue, according to a report by Denver television station KDVR-31. The posted speed limit in the area usually is 65 mph but is currently posted at 45 mph because it's a construction zone.

Police gave Moreno a breath test and a field sobriety test and took the former Georgia star to a detox facility. He was charged with DUI, failing to have insurance and careless driving. He is scheduled to be arraigned March 2, court records state.

Darius Heyward-Bey (April 7)

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey made his initial appearance in court Thursday to face misdemeanor DUI charges. Heyward-Bey, 25, was pulled over at about 2 a.m. on April 7 while driving east on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge on his way back to the East Bay after visiting a nightclub in San Francisco, his attorney Ivan Golde said.

A chemical test conducted at the scene found that Heyward-Bey's blood-alcohol content was .13 percent, and a Breathalyzer test conducted about an hour later found that his BAC was still .12 percent, prosecutors said.

Aldon Smith (Jan 28)

http://espn.go.com/n...ted-charged-dui

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was charged Saturday with driving under the influence in Miami Beach.

Aldon Smith's arrest lends credence to pre-draft concerns about his readiness for NFL life, writes Mike Sando. Blog

Miami-Dade County jail records show Smith was booked Saturday morning and held on $1,000 bond. Jail records did not show whether Smith was represented by an attorney.

So what was the original offense he was being arrested for? You can't JUST be arrested for resisting arrest, in order to resist arrest, they were arresting you for something else.

How about battery on a police officer? Allegedly he pushed the security guard away when asked for the 2nd time to leave. I'd say that's plenty enough to warrant getting arrested. Most will disagree, but it seems to me that he wanted to leave when he designated rather than what the business wanted.

You don't interfere with a man getting his drink on. I don't understand why people don't get this. If I want to go to a night club and get rowdy that is my right. Especially if I were a sports star.

Hey man I agree personally, even if it is sarcasm. When I'm drinking I want to be left alone and I'm going to do my thing. Unfortunately professional athletes and celebrities are constantly in the spotlight. They can't slip up one bit or its blown up by TMZ or Yahoo! Its a shame, but again we don't know all the details. Regardless it seems like a blown up situation for what it is.

It won't affect him on the field, so in terms of fantasy relevance, its a moot point and story. In terms of arrests, I don't even know if I'd consider it that much. That's like saying being thrown in the drunk tank is an arrest.

This one is so good Cuse9 - I'm going to have to copy and past this story. You just can't make this up!

ALBANY — Philadelphia Eagles running back and former Albany Academy standout Dion Lewis was arrested with his older brother early Saturday after banging on the locked glass doors to a downtown hotel lobby and pulling a fire alarm, police said.

The incident unfolded around 4 a.m., when Lewis and his brother, Lamar, were locked out of the Hampton Inn on Chapel Street, police said. The two men, who police say were intoxicated, tried to get back into the hotel, but the sliding glass door to the lobby was locked, Officer Steve Smith said.

According to the police report, Dion and Lamar Lewis struck the doors "with such force as to rock them and nearly break them from their hinges." They then pulled the alarm outside the hotel's lobby, the report said.

Todd Reichelt, general manager for the Hampton Inn, said the doors to the hotel are locked after midnight to anyone who does not have a key.

Dion Lewis was scheduled to appear at the Troy Boys and Girls Club Tuesday afternoon to sign autographs and speak with roughly 100 summer campers. According to a press release, Lewis was to talk with the kids about "the value of working to the best of their abilities both on and off the playing field" and also touch on an anti-bullying developed by the club's staff. That event may be scheduled for later this summer, said Sharon Smith the center's director.

"He was supposed to talk about things like how to make better choices," Smith said. "I think it's certainly a teachable moment."

Dez in trouble again for the 2nd time in 6 months. Hello suspension I'm afraid...

(TheHuddle) Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, according to sources, was arrested by police in DeSoto, Texas, Monday, July 16, on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. This is the second time in six months that Bryant has had a run-in with the law. In January, he was involved in an altercation in Miami outside a nightclub. While he was detained by police during that incident, he was not arrested.

Analysis: Sigh. So much potential, yet Bryant consistently seems to find the banana peel in life. We'll see if this latest incident leads to a visit with Roger Goodell and perhaps a game or two vacation courtesy of the league offices

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/19/robert-quinn-arrested-on-drunk-driving-charges/

Rams defensive end Robert Quinn was arrested on drunk driving charges earlier this month, according to KSDK.

The station reports Quinn was pulled over on July 10 in Florissant, a northern suburb of St. Louis. He was charged with DWI and two other charges, and posted bond and was released that night.

That’s the extent of the report at the moment, and it’s unclear why it took more than a week to come to light.

Just a rumor at this point, but...

On Friday, Lions cornerback Aaron Berry resolved a DUI arrest by striking a deal to enter a diversion program.

On Saturday morning, Berry may have violated the terms of the program before even being accepted into it.

A tipster passed along to PFT on Saturday a detailed account of an incident that has since shown up on a Dolphins message board. As the tip/rumor goes, Berry was arrested in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania after a group claimed he pointed a gun at them from inside a car.

The Dauphin County, Pennsylvania prison list currently doesn’t show Berry as being incarcerated, but the site explains that the information may be outdated, especially on weekends.

Most importantly, a league source tells PFT that initial review of the situation indicates that there may be “some fire” to what otherwise appears to be smoke.

None of this is confirmed. But it appears for now that something may have happened.

Mercifully, the off-season is coming to an end for the Detroit Lions.

Cornerback Aaron Berry was arrested for the second time in a month early Saturday morning and charged with three counts of simple assault for allegedly brandishing a firearm, Harrisburg (Pa.) City Police said.

Berry’s arrest is the seventh by Lions players in seven months this off-season. Rookies and injured players are scheduled to report for training camp on Monday, and practice begins Friday.

“Obviously, I’m limited in what I can provide because it’s a pending investigation,” a person answering the phone at the Harrisburg Police Dept. and identifying himself as Cpl. Gautsch said; a Cpl. Kyle Gautsch works for the department. “It looks like he was charged with three counts of simple assault and there was a firearm involved. Any other information would have to be disclosed by our press-release guy.”

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/11/report-chad-johnson-arrested-on-domestic-violence-charges/

If Dolphins coach Joe Philbin didn’t like Chad Johnson’s language, he’s definitely not going to like this.

According to Davie (Fla.) Police Department captain Dale Engle, Johnson was arrested Saturday night on domestic violence charges, per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

According to the report, Johnson was arrested after an incident involving his new wife, Evelyn Lozada. He allegedly head-butted her during an argument in his car. They were married on July 4.

When police arrived at the scene, Lozada had lacerations on her forehead.
