Reality 2,710 Posted August 16, 2018 Not even controversial at this point. The Dems bring nothing to the table, no agenda to run on, no viable candidates, no understanding of why they lost.. Pretty easy call, things would have to drastically change from what they are right now.. As always though, for re-elections.. It's the economy stupid.
MDC 5,877 Posted August 16, 2018 The incumbent always has the advantage but things are looking pretty grim for Trump projecting a year or so out. I have zero confidence in the Dems ability to nominate a winner though so I cant get until I know who is running.

He has 75% of the country on lock and is becoming the counter culture in the liberal west. Might even be a landslide in 2020.

MDC 5,877 Posted August 16, 2018 Oh, then I can see why MDC thinks Trumps chances are grim. I dont think his chances are necessarily grim. Id say 60/40 right now maybe. Some things for him are potentially looking grim, projecting a year down the line. No immigration reform, no healthcare policy, the likelihood that unemployment goes up and just overall scandal fatigue could hurt him in 2020. This will depend on who the Democrats nominate and like I said I have zero confidence in the party nominating a quality candidate.

tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 16, 2018 Tough call. On one hand, not trump might be all they need. But the candidate will have to be likeable. I dont see how people can think the most polarizing figure in political history could be a landslide. Its gonna be a circus for sure and Donny will surely mop the floor with them in debates and such, so I just dont know.

I tend to always think the incumbent wins but Trump won 4 states last time by 80,000 total votes and hes spent the past two years dealing with a nonstop string of scandals and investigations while making an embarrassing retard ass clown out of himself. I think turn out on the left will be far stronger in 2020. I have real doubts about Trumps ability to build support cause hes such an ass hole. The X factor is the Democratic candidate. You can always count on the Dems to make the wrong call.

drobeski 3,061 Posted August 16, 2018 His support from African Americans has gone up to 39% from 19 % ...the obvious reason for the recent race game play on the hack news networks
tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 16, 2018 Absolutely the left will turn out in bigger numbers this time. Maybe set records even after dropping th ball last time. It really just comes down to PA, FL and Ohio really. It will be a historic election either way with the social media rally cries hitting a fever pitch. However annoying you think liberals are now, expect it to double next year.

tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 16, 2018 Yep. That is devastating to the Ds and the media what wants them to win. False, the media has benefited the most from Trump. He has revolutionized late night talk, news sites, political banter, all of it. The media wants controversy, that’s its business. They want trump to win but won’t be able to say that publicly. Strike 3,949 Posted August 16, 2018 If you say so. His approval rating has been pretty consistently bad but obviously you know better. I guess Obama's was too: But Trump’s 44 percent approval also matches two previous presidents at the same points in their first term in office, just months before their parties experienced major losses in midterm elections. President Barack Obama earned 44 percent approval in June 2010, a year and a half into his first term, and so did late President Ronald Reagan in June 1982, according to NBC. https://www.newsweek.com/trump-approval-obama-midterms-964293 IOW, it's not as bad as you think. And, as noted, it's improved significantly with African Americans.
Voltaire 4,554 Posted August 16, 2018 Other than "Not Trump" what is their platform? 'Not Trump' is the obvious headliner but follow that up with more free stuff, crying immigrant children, cops are bad, kneelers are good, tranny rights, and ten triple-helpings of straight white men are evil.
