Oh Danny Boy......Danny Woodhead

Recommended Posts

He has been practicing the last two weeks. Could return week 11 at Green Bay.

rotoworld reporting today the ravens are not sure if he will play this Sunday. That will work itself out in practice this week but will any of you start him this week if active?

I am leaning towards it.

would have to bench theo riddick or james white in ppr.

I have him. Drafted him thinking he would be a useful back in a ppr. I picked him up and stashed him on ir a few weeks back. Not gonna use him as I have Ak,shady and McKinnon. But he's a good insurance plan.

Im not starting him. You should with those rbs.

I've got danny boy and need a rb next week with cmc on bye, but I doubt I would play woodhead his first week back unless buck allen is inactive or something like that. They will probably ease him in if he even plays. Gonna just throw in darkwa or drake and hope for the best.

Picked him off waivers a few weeks ago. I already have Buck but havent played him for awhile since lucky me I have Ingram and Gurley. I can play up to three backs and since I lost OBJ and D Adams has no Rodgers, I could see myself going 3 RBs in a full PPR down the stretch. As far as this week though, I agree with the majority like to see him play one game before placing him in my lineup.

I can't wait to see how he performs.

I pray that for you all that have indeed picked up he does do a good job.

I'm just not on board that he will.

I see some production but more like a low flex start or just a fill in.

But for those that own him I'm hoping I'm wrong

Good luck with this situation.

Is this Shaq's Teleprompter?

Newsflash: BAL offense sucks.

 This

and Woodhead is 32 years old and has missed more games than he has played the last couple of seasons.

how much of an impact do you seriously think he will make?

he's a bye/flex filler for PPR format only. nothing more. You can t count on him to stay healthy for an extended period, so you really dont want him as a regular starter.

Um folks who may be hurting at RB don't need him for an extended period, just a few games.

And the ones who got him picked him up for FREE so you're losing nothing if he busts but have everything to gain with his upside.

Scared money don't win no money.

He played like 6 snaps the first week and had 4 touches. Injury prone? Sure, but for a free flyer, I'll take my chances. Let me know what guys on the waiver you'd rather have.

very strange....no google or rotoworld updates on whether woodhead practiced today fully. all you see is he is the waiver wire gem but zero info

I'm not disagreeing with you.

read my post again.

he's a bye/flex filler. that's what I said in the post you responded to.

then you said, people may not want him for an extended period... just a couple of games.

to me that would be the definition of a bye/flex filler.

so I think we have somehow agreed without coming to an agreement.

The beat writer for the Baltimore Sun reported that Danny Boy looked active in practice but the Ravens don't have to list his participation level, since they haven't activated him yet to the 53 man roster.

No. I don't roster ppr backs that don't get significant carries, even in ppr leagues. I don't roster back ups. I also try to avoid injured players, players coming back from injury, and players that have a high chance to get injured during a game, and are 32 years old and small.

I roster backs that are likely to be heavily involved in their offense and offer zero risk to my roster.

i believe the thing to look for is if buck allen is active or a healthy scratch. I wonder if buck plays special teams?

what i am getting at is alex collins and west are not pass catchers. If woodhead gets to be the passing down back all by himself he will do well

if buck is active i will most likely watch to see what happens b4 starting

Harbaugh sounds optimistic....should be activated today off IR

Ravens activated Danny Woodhead (hamstring) from injured reserve.

Its official I'm keeping him on the bench this week, but he should be out there on game day.

Same here. Want to see his role this week, number of snaps, etc. If all goes well, he's an auto play for me going forward.

Gotta play him this week with bye/injuries/suspension. I'd be satisfied with 4 catches, 55 total yards. I'd be ecstatic with 6 catches, 70 total yards & a TD.

i could just play it safe with james white but he only played 11 of 70 snaps last week.

woodhead is the 3rd down back and flacco loves check downs but buck allen is active

ivory simply scares me in ppr in bad matchup with fournette active.

911....any help appreciated

If I'm reading this right your choices are Ivory, Woodhead or James white in ppr? If so I'd go Woodhead. I wish I had the cajones to put him in over darkwa or drake, but I don't. Good Luck.

Woody is coming back off injury into a situation where we don't know how he'll play, vs a defense that's actually not bad against RBs a lot of the time.

White.

I am satisfied with his performance today. He can build on that.

I think that's who Woodhead will be going forward.

If that's who he's going to be on only 13 snaps, I can't wait to see who he's going to be when he gets his normal workload the team signed him in FA to have.
