I really don't know....... Unless Riviera flat out took themselves out of consideration for all future majors - it makes no sense. Certainly isn't bcoz it's too short... They can stretch it out to just over 7300 yards when they want.

 

Riviera could even host a Ryder Cup - it's that awesome.

I've also read in the past that their head officer wants to get a US Open there as well as a Ryder Cup.

in fairness there is a lot of little pedigree sitting at the top of the leaderboard right now. Im pretty sure we will see some normalization as the tournament goes on.

 

A lot of the unused scores were realllllly ugly. multiples 3 overs, 4 overs, 6 overs, an 8 over. The cut will be a big deal but after that, its still pretty early.

 

Yes there is luck but I feel like LOD was up there after round 1 of the farmers and the "scrubs" managed a 9th.
