++ UPDATE: Latavius Murray - Dalvin Cook ruled out

Recommended Posts

Cook is looking like a game time decision on Sunday. Might wanna make a speculative add on Murray if hes available. If Cook cant go Murray should be a borderline RB1 option. Even if your deep at RB and cant fit him into your lineup its worth picking him up if youre facing the Cook owner this weekend.

I rarely handcuff but I did Cook coming of injury. Should have picked Fournette instead. It is what it is.

Huh. I'd already more or less decided to bench him for Thompson just for production...even against the Bills. This at least makes me spend less time worrying about my decision.

More and more I find that being a primary goal in FF--just put a team together that leaves me with no hard decisions to make :P

What about starting him over DJ against Chicago?? Crazy??

Can’t really say it’s crazy to bench DJ for anyone at this point. Wise prob not but crazy def not.

Drop Sony Michel to add Murray? If so, start Murray over Lamar Miller non-PPR?

I would do that only to start Murray

I have Cook, McCaffrey, Miller, Hyde and Michel. Non-PPR. As of now Michel is clear RB5 and probably will never see my line-up so having the Cook back-up is probably a good idea. Seeing Murray > Miller this week. Fantasy Pros just re-worked their ranking and have Murray as the #11 back this week.

would you drop Burkhead for Murray

RB's would then be Hunt, Miller, Dion Lewis, Clement, Murray, PPR

would be dropping Burkhead in the hopes that this injury with Cook lingers and he provides more value than Burkhead ROS

Go drop you kicker before someone picks Murray up and then you at least have time to think about what you wanna do. Plus if you decide keeping Burkhead then you can drop Murray and pick up your kicker again and itll push Murray into next weeks waivers.

The only guys I can drop to get him are:

McCoy
Peyton Barber
Guice (injured, but is a keeper league - must stay on roster to be eligible to keep)
Mixon (not happening)
Brieda

I can only carry 6 RB (other RB is Elliott). Worth dropping any for Murray?

How many can you keep? You are for sure keeping Guice?

We can keep 1. No, not for sure keeping Guice. He would cost me a 10th rd pick. My other big option is Mayfield, who would cost me a 13th.

Can you tell me how your draft played out that you ended up with those RBs? You better be stellar at WR. Considering youre hurting RB and could really use an RB1 Id cut Barber for Murray. This hammy issue with Cook could linger so if you could get a few starts out Murray that would be huge. And Cook is still coming off ACL surgery so at this point it looks like Murray is one of the better handcuffs in the league. Its almost worth picking him up to have leverage on the Cook owner in a trade. I cant believe hes still on your waivers at this point.

I wouldn’t call Mayfield a big option. If,you aren’t for sure keeping Guice, cut him.

McCoy was a dumb pick. Ellitott was my first pick at #4. I screwed up and took McCoy, then Mixon. ALL of the big names were gone by then. My WR aren't great either. In fact, I had a pretty shitty draft because in just about EVERY round, I had a guy targeted, and he went 1-3 picks before me in the same round...so I had a lot of scrambling/consolation picks.

I just meant guys possibly worth keeping, relative to their draft position.

My bad man! I didnt see where you mentioned you had Zeke! Now it makes sense. I was wondering who your first pick was considering you have Mixon which to me was an indicator that you had a top 5 pick. Which is why I asked to see your draft, it wasnt making since to me. You look good at RB now with the addition of Zeke. My apologies!

In the future, you should mention whether its standard or PPR? If PPR - Barber becomes much easier of a cut.

In non-ppr for me...I can't see dropping Barber right now.

Id be dropping Barber, Michel (that is a lottery pick...yeah, I know the history in NE).

My biggest option is do I give up on Royce Freeman (and yes I have Lindsay too).

My RBs were too much hype and so far not enough production...a bunch of low end RB2-RB3s...and bust pick in DJ and the ever disappointing Collins.

My team is 0-2 which is why its tempting...but to me its still giving up the long term for what is possibly a 1 week stint and a hand cuff (and Im already sitting on Baldwin dinged for a few weeks)

Barber is a hold in standard for sure. Hes averaging 17.5 carries per game which ranks 4th among RBs. Hes also on the field for 70% of the offensive snaps which places him right there with other high volume RBs.

Snap % thru 2 weeks

72.4% -- D-Johnson

72.1% -- J-Howard

71% -- M-Gordon

70.2% -- K-Hunt

68.7% -- P-Barber

67.2 % -- K-Drake

After diving into Barbers advanced stats and usage rate I actually think hes a very savvy buy low candidate. Fantasy is all about opportunity and volume and Barber is seeing a lot of both. I think his lack of fantasy production is more of an outlier than anything. A RB with a usage rate as high as barbers should at least have a pretty safe floor from week to week. I think I might hit up the Barber owner in my league even though its PPR. Just feel him out.
