IGotWorms 3,302 Posted January 25, 2016 Drobs and edjr were a loud minority... Brady looked like Tony Eason and DEN looked like the 85 Bears... much of that falling on NEs awful Oline play. Broncos were the better, more physical team - NE was turtling under the pressure. But the DEN O was no great shakes either - not pretty from either teams offense. Neither Brady or Manning looked like great QBs today. And the Mile High mystique grows - Gostowski misses a PAT. Yikes. Fockin cursed! I'm always a little surprised they still haven't figured out how to master the climate and altitude. E.g. Gronkowski getting dehydrated - yeah it's focking dry as hell there
bjsteel 34 Posted January 25, 2016 Anyone who thinks this one was is a simpleton. Oh, gollly, being called a simpleton, that really hurts my feelings. I watched the game and said what I felt happened, just my opinion. Anyone else call NE coming back and scoring a TD, only to fall short of the 2-pt conversion? It was obvious, been there done that, but usually with CFB. So basically, pound salt a-hole.

Hey Mensa, how much do you think you would have to pay Brady who has a wife who makes ten times what he does, to throw a game? If that's your opinion, you're not a simpleton, you're a GD moron. Get back on the short bus and ask someone who knows to explain football to you.

I think one thing you think the other, WTF is your problem? I don't care or give a shiat why a game might have been fixed, I just know what I watched. And judging from what I've read on other forum's, I'm not the only one. You think the NFL and Goodell wanted NE and Brady in the Super Bowl after all that Deflategate crap? Wasn't going to happen. Ok dude, you obviously don't bet much, but it's OK, some day you will learn that football games are sometimes fixed. I know, it goes against the grain, how dare I think a football game is fixed. You must be a Denver fan, correct? Congrats on the win.

I know, it goes against the grain, how dare I think a football game is fixed. You must be a Denver fan, correct? Congrats on the win. Seriously? We're playing the "game was fixed" card? Pretty desperate. Not even close. The refs were rather quiet unless you watched a different game than we all did. Cmon man, I understand the loss sucked but let's not start pulling this kind of crap about games being fixed. Oy vey. The only thing that was "fixed" was that Denver's defense was a permanent "fixture" in the pats backfield most of the game.

Aaron Rudnicki 9 Posted January 25, 2016 Good god. I cant stand the average NFL fan. They lack reasonable understanding and nuance. They talk in so much hyperbole and rhetoric. My own little editorial: Lots of name calling on this site, I like it, it allows for someone to get their point across. Some people who say ignorant things should not get a respectable pass. If you are an idiot you deserve to be called as such and ridiculed for saying something idiotic. It is the only way to police forums. Moving on... Anyone saying either QB is better than the other is a lack of understanding the game. If you fell into the trap of that discussion, get out now. You cant win. What reasonable person with knowledge of the game would get into an argument about two of the greatest QBs of all time? Not a discussion, but arguments. A reasonable person can understand a case could be made for both based of the stats and facts and make that case without destroying two of the best ever. If you are saying this game was fixed, the worst thing in the world would be if the NFL fixes games. Too big of a risk, will never happen and if it does... So goes the NFL. Game fixing will be the only thing that can bring down the NFL. So yes, if you brought that up, you do not have a full understanding and are just an average fan looking for talking points because you are bitter in some way. If you are an idiot you deserve to be called as such and ridiculed for saying something idiotic. It is the only way to police forums. This. ^^^^ I also can't stand listening to sports talk radio. Half-wits with little understanding of the game given a forum to unleash their verbal diarrhea. The game is pretty easy to break down: - The blueprint to beating the Patriots with their full compliment of players involves being able to get pressure on Brady with just 4 linemen and taking away the quick routes. Easier said than done and the Broncos did it to perfection - In addition to the pressure by the front 4 (sometimes it only took 3), the Broncos changed coverages in the secondary to cause Brady to do a lot of misreads. - The pressure caused Brady to have "happy feet". When he gets rattled, he doesn't set and step into his throws. You saw several back foot throws by him that were awful. The worst part is that when he gets into this mode he "feels" pressure even when it isn't there, so he misses open guys and throws the ball too soon. - Home field mattered. The Patriots could have made changes in their calls at the line if they were at home and did not have to deal with the crowd noise. With the silent counts of the Patriots, Ware and Miller could time their jumps and they just tooled Vollmer and Cannon. - Home field mattered. Gronk was sucking wind and getting rolled on the sidelines. Could be the altitude or it could be the night of boozing before the game. - Belichick is always aggressive and goes for it on 4th down. In this case, his philosophy (no, not arrogance) cost him. The FG with about 6 minutes would have been important. I had less of a problem with going for it than the stupid play call (see next) - McDaniels showed why he was not a HC candidate. The play calls and adjustments by the Pats just weren't there. A good OC would have made adjustments at halftime to deal with the line issues. None came and McDaniels still thinks that he is playing Madden out there. - Putting a back in the backfield to help with protection would have done nothing. In that case, the Broncos would have just brought the linebacker who was covering the back in on pressure. - The Broncos played great defense, but they have to be worried about how their offense did in the 2nd half. I think that Carolina has a better rush and they will put more pressure on Manning than the Patriots did. Congrats to the Broncos because the better team won.

So what you're trying to say is that the NFL would rather risk DESTROYING their multi-billion dollar sport with a game fixing scandal than have the Pats win the SB? Let's say that's the case for the sake of argument. So under this scenario where Brady was involved in the fix, that would mean the NFL which has dragged Brady and his team through the mud for a year would now approach him and say,..."No hard feelings Tom but could you throw the AFC Championship Game?" Do you see the stupidity here Algernon?
Law 220 Posted January 25, 2016 ...calling someone "a brain dead ###### moron" for having an opinion... Except you don't position or phrase it as an opinion. You state it as fact. It most certainly is not a fact. NFL games are not fixed. If you have prove there are, present it. Otherwise it's your opinion based on the game not going the way YOU thought it should have. Franknbeans 46 Posted January 25, 2016 Wade Philips just showed why some guys just need to be coordinators. HeIIuva plan executed nearly flawlessly. Hit Brady then hit him again. Then hit him again and again and again. Before long the menstrual cramps will be too great for him to handle. That isn't a mystery. No QB like to get hit a lot especially Tommy turf ball. The difference and genius is that not only does Denver have the horses to execute the game plan, they took away most all of the quick passes underneath that would normally neutralize the pass rush. Brady didn't have time to find guys and when he did, they were mostly covered.
