Mets send Teblow down to low A affiliate Columbia Fireflies

Recommended Posts

Michael Jordan hit 3 home runs in the minor leagues.

He also had almost 500 AB, and barely managed to hit .200

Timmy has 2 dingers and is hitting a paltry .231 with only 13 AB.

Tebow rules.

To be fair, the dark cloud of being on double secret probation from the NBA had to be weighing on MJ's mind while he was in Birmingham.

On Wednesday night Tebow went 3-for-4 against the Asheville Tourists, including his first career triple. The night brought Tebows batting average up to a .246, tying him on the team with Michael Paez, who was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB draft.

I played in the same league. It's equivalent to D1 college ball. If he isn't in double A to end the season he will not make it out of spring training next year.

Mets can use him now. No one else is hitting. It's a shitshow

But what really stands out is his performance over his last 16 games. Hes hit .327/.413/.436 with four doubles, one triple, six walks, and 16 strikeouts. Despite the small sample size, thats a marked improvement from how he was hitting before the hot streak, in the first 12 games of the season: .156/.224/.289 with two home runs, three walks, and 13 strikeouts.

16 K's in garbage ball means 40 or more in the pros.

And his other stats will fall.

Unimpressive

I guarantee that Mets are surprised at his progress. The article is BS, though, as it says "he could" be promoted. Obviously, anyone could be promoted. I doubt he will and don't think he should.

Minor leagues is where you work on technique. I'm sure Tim could hit for contact if that was the intent.

Fade all minor leaguers and you will be right 95% of the time. Doesn't make you astute.

Is it true the Mets have said they are saving #23 for when Tewbow is called up?

2-3 with a HR in his 1st game since the promotion. The HR was a bomb to left center that about 5% of minor leaguers are capable of hitting. If he has a solid off-season he might see action with the lowly Mets next season. :dunno:

The Mets couldn't be much worse. They should call him up now.

5% of minor leagues can barely scrape one over the opposite field wall

hit it so far the guy on the bases stopped because he thought it was caught

Yes. No doubt that a Single A guy will be with the MLB team next season. Only 5% of guys can do that? Based on what?
