Djgb13 2,338 Posted April 15, 2018 Saw this a couple years ago. Theyve made a lot of advancements in medicine lately. One is where they are taking the hearts of donors, striping it of everything and just making it a shell, then taking someones stem cells and using them to grow the tissues and everything on the heart to essentially be identical to the heart the person was born with. Also, they are utilizing drones to fly ahead of ambulances with an AED, a camera, and a screen where they can see the patient and give directions to the people with the patient on what to do until EMS gets there

wiffleball 4,640 Posted April 17, 2018 And yet, Sepsis is last time I checked, 3rd leading killer. Usually developed once you're IN the hospital. We can fly to the moon, but our greatest weapon in health care is Purell. Fantastic. Not trying to denigrate the cool stuff. You guys should check out CRISPR. Probably our greatest hope for quantum leaps forward in health care. I honest to God hope the next 20 years sees the kind of advances in HC like we say in the communication/entertainment spectrum. In short, I don't need my phone to any more damn shiit every year. But if you could do something about blindness and Dementia, that'd be nifty. Still, we gotta get better on blocking and tackling.
