Teddy Bridgewater Injured

Bridgewater suffers non-contact knee injury

Teddy Bridgewater suffered a potentially serious non-contact left knee injury in Tuesday's practice.

Bridgewater went down in a heap, and his teammates immediately called for the trainer. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, players were cursing and throwing their helmets. They gathered around Bridgewater in prayer. The scene was described as "complete shock." The Vikings canceled practice. Obviously, it has the looks of a potentially season-ending injury, which would be a devastating blow even considering Bridgewater's game-managing ways. Journeyman veteran Shaun Hill is the next man up on the depth chart.

Welcome to the Shaun Hill era.

And with that announcement, Vikings fans everywhere climb onto their window ledges and prepare to jump.

It doesn't sound good at all. Word is that it is much worse than just an ACL. People are speculating it is an issue with a knee dislocation and vascular/nerve problems.

Moving Rudolph into top 8 at TE.

Seriously?

Would like to hear more reasoning.

This is sad. As has been mentioned, this seems much more severe than just an ACL. I hope this isn't something that cuts his career short however.

Hill to Diggs--the new College Park connection!

I remember Shaun Hill actually putting up good numbers when he filled in for Alex Smith 5 or 6 years ago...but that was 5 or 6 years ago.

I guess he won't be standing during the anthem either.

The AP is actually reporting that this might actually BE a career-ender.

Minnesota seemed to be heading the right direction. When a knee injury is bad enough to require an ambulance and they cancel practice after only 25 minutes, it's prolly pretty ugly. Steelers had an LB named Sean Spence. Gruesome knee injury and doctors told him he wouldn't walk right again due to nerve damage, let alone ever play football. Steelers ended up cutting him and he caught on with Tennessee. Reports have been good on him. Here's hoping it's an easier road for Teddy B.

Is Hill the QB now? If so he loves Rudolph. Man crush for him. Hill is TE friendly.

Bump to AP lean even more on him.

Bump down?

Now they will put 9 in the box. This isn't the 25 year old AP. Does a 32 year old AP still got enough?

Or stack the box against him? A worse QB means less drives sustained, less time on the field. I'm sorry is there something I'm missing on Shaun Hill lol?

Just drafted AP in my main league. FML...

Shawn Hill had some monster games relieving Stafford in the past, and quite frankly if I remember correctly Calvins numbers were better

I hate to see Bridgewater get hurt especially if its that serious, but as a Diggs owner this is at worst a do nothing for his value, and I see it going up significantly

Bridgewater wasn't scaring anybody. I liked him as a qb, but as long as the Lions can find a competent journeyman AP will be fine.

Shaun hill is better than Ponder was in 2012. They stacked the box then. Also had a worse defense than they do now.

I think this just adds a chip on AP shoulder.

Everyone thinks the Vikings season is over. Last time everyone didn't believe AP could do it, he shlt all over everyone.

Yea, they have been putting 9 in the box vs Peterson for years. The only competent QB he has had, where they had to respect the pass, was Favre in '09.

From rotoworld.... NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Teddy Bridgewater's knee injury was "gruesome," and that his teammates were "disturbed and horrified," with some even throwing up.

From a non-contact injury? What the hell actually happened?
