General DFS Question

Recommended Posts

For you guys that play regularly, I have a question:

Do you feel compelled to spend your entire budget (or close) when forming a lineup each week? Often, I will pick my players, then discover that I have maybe 600-1000 dollars remaining. At that point, I get an overwhelming desire to reshuffle my players to spend down my budget.

If it is only 1-2 hundred dollars remaining, I usually don't worry about that.......but I repeatedly find myself changing my original picks to spend down my allotment. Does anyone else find themselves tempted by this, or do you have no issues leaving money on the table, so to speak?

I've left about $1300 before and cashed. I think that's generally the threshold for me personally, as you can likely upgrade someone somewhere with that kind of coin. The biggest thing I've found to hinder my lineups is trying to force every dollar to be spent. If you like two players equally, don't fall into the trap that the more expensive one will be the one to perform better.

I feel the same. If I've got around $1500 it's hard not to shuffle regardless of how much I like my team. For afternoon and/or night only games I tend to leave more behind because there are fewer players to choose from.

I did the Mon-Thurs night one this week. I might've had close to 6k left

A few weeks back, the optimal lineup in FanDuel left $2,300 in salary.

The right lineup is the right lineup. For GPPs, I try to get as many players that are CAPABLE of putting up 30 points. For cash, 15 points is the average with a 10 point floor.
