Interesting tidbit behind the scenes.

Scheduled for a 90 minute set. No opener.

He went on 10 minutes late.

For planning purposes the staff reached out to his management- will he perform 10 minutes after the scheduled end time- or end at 9 as scheduled?

Interesting answer- if hes having a good day he will continue and perform the full 90 minute set.

If hes not having a good day- or if hes getting heckled- or if he feels the crowd is not responding to his satisfaction he will end the show early.

He was off stage at 9pm.

The Ryman...nice. Going to see Gaffigan there in October.

Send me a PM as the show gets closer. Stop by and say hello when you get to the auditorium.

This has been my part time gig for the past 2 years. Its helped put my stepdaughter ( goosebumps) through college and made my car payment every month.

There are definitely worse part time gigs out there.

I love the Ryman. Such a great old venue.

I saw Dylan there once. Elvis Costello showed up randomly and dropped in to do an opening set.

I had a friend that didnt like the scheduled opening act (Amos Lee) so he decided to show up late. I sent him a picture of what he was missing. Man was he p!ssed.

Its probably my second favorite venue in Nashville. My favorite was the Belcourt Theatre. I saw Richard Thompson there, the Cowboy Junkies, and others. Place is so small you are just feet away.

Does he have a fan base?

Besides the liberal lemmings he's not a likable or funny guy.

His delivery seems forced and scripted, he's not a natural. Then there's those dramatic laugh at me pauses.

I'd like to punch him in the throat

Agreed. He's not remotely funny. Terrible timing. I do like when he calls out he far left liberals for how absurd they can be. For that I give him credit but I can't figure out why anyone would think he's funny.

I've started watching him again these last few weeks after stopping when he got insufferable in the weeks between the election and Trump's being sworn in.

This latest show was a particularly weak one, the guest interview at the beginning was an NRA guy and the author was some guy who promotes recreational drug use. Along the way, he took offense at people who sent him hate mail for wishing for a recession in the hopes it would damage Trump's popularity.

Was it the same format? Find the weakest conservative you can get, put him/her on the show and then attack him with your 3 or 4 other far left guests?

What I don't like is he didn't really go back at the gun nut guy.

When he used "home protection for a mother with kids" as a reason to own a gun. Maher should have asked "where does she keep the gun" "oh, locked up" "what good is that if someone breaks in"

This week had two former Republicans on this time, both cetrist types who left because of Trump.

Next week is the detestable Jennifer Rubin so more Republican Never-Trumper bashing on tap from the right and left.

He's not funny in the Americas Home Video slash How I Met Your Mother slash the big Bang Theory mentality that ninety percent of Amuricans have.

But, like above, his best work is calling out the radical Fringe left.

venture to say that most of the guys here and say they hate Maur blah blah blah haven't seen him in 10 years. They're the same guys who say they hate blah blah blah and haven't seen them in 10 years either.

That's a page right out of Trumps Playbook. They're fake! I never watch them! Especially that part where they said... Last night!😭

😂😂😂

Keep in mind, in the troll sisters universe, there's a following types of Republicans.

True Republicans: Ones that swallow every line of bullshit Trump ever utters and never question anything he says or does.

The Rest: RINOs, deep State Pond Dwellers, and weak minded slow thinkers who were secretly liberal for the past 30 years but just now started to show their true colors because because because Trump!

Never mind that those they cal RINOs...some are actually conservatives and not the faux conservative Trump sheep that the rest have become.

Richard Thompson? The guy who prosecuted Jack Kevorkian and then went on to defend creationism in public schools?

I was flipping thru the channels last week and actually caught him on an episode of Alice from 1985. He played a cop. Apparently this was his very first on screen performance on TV.

He dumped Julia Duffy's character, Stephanie in an episode of Newhart.

Julia Duffy=80s version of Bernadette

Wood Wood

Didn't it seem that Samantha Fox was Duffy's doppelganger?

Maher just can't play outside his own room. Anywhere else and he sounds like a loon. He actually believes Trump would not step down if he lost in 2020? He doesn't get that Trump's rhetoric is for show? Bannon tested him for a minute to see if the lights were on, then put it in cruise control.

the Trump people aren't the racists, its Don Lemon's people. Steve Bannon's face while Maher laughs about that, and tell's him I know you can convince people of that, but you don't believe it. Priceless.

BM seems to be one of the very few people who is actually putting the wood to the Democrats. That's good enough for me. Everybody else is a nutless Wonder.

BM claims to be p'oed at the dems, but it's not their message, it's their candidates. They have put up some bad candidates, but they still would have won with a half decent message. He's not helping.

It's absolutely the message. You think Trump was a good candidate?

Trump was the single greatest political candidate the US has had in 50 years. Better than Reagan, as good as Kennedy. He had a message and he conveyed it.

Yeah, it was the message: America First. If he ran on the democrats message he would have lost.

Not only the message but his willingness to say it. Politicians are cowards these days, erring on the side of saying nothing. For the Democrats, there's not much to say anyway.

Was it the message about how he wouldn't have time to golf?
