Coachella: would you go?

Recommended Posts

Obvious not as you are now. But in your younger years. Its kind of like Woodstock for the new generation. Theres bands, hippies, drugs, sex, and alcohol for days.

you call those bands?

I remember when it started there was some good music, now its all garbage. And the fact that its annual, makes it nothing like Woodstock (a once in a lifetime event)

No, but I regret not ever going to Jazz fest. And the best thing about the music at jazz fest is that they don't seem to play any jazz. Jazz sucks.

I'd still be in the other thread trying to save/reorganize the sex cult.

Id probably be more interest in Lalapalooza and the like based on band lineups

I went to one of If not the last Lalapaloozas and it was the worst lineup ever. Snoop Dogg was by far the best set. The headline Korn was terrible. The only act I looked forward to was Orbital and they cancelled.

Im sure earlier versions were good.

I went last year to see Radiohead. Just that one day, and I didnt show up until the last couple bands were going on. The XX and some rapper.

My sister and BIL have a house in Indio, across the street from the polo field where they have Coachella. You just hop on their golf cart and drive out the back gate of the property and youre there.

Theyve gone both weekends every year, for the last 5-6 years. I guess its not really the true Coachella experience though. They have a trailer brought in and hang out in the VIP area doing yay with all the bands and famous people.

Id probably go again if Tool or a band Im really into played. Definitely would never do the whole 3 day experience with the camping and all that crap. Too many people and I dont like 99% of the other music. I looked through the bands this year and the only one I like is A Perfect Circle.

Just saw where Beyonce was at the most recent Coachella. Not that I had any desire to go in the first place, but Beyonce and outdoor music Festival just doesn't seem to go together.

Related, never understood the deal behind Beyonce. I assume it's because fags and blacks embraced her. And there's no 2 bigger look at me groups than those two.

related 2.0, I remember when one of the Networks tried to pair the Dixie Chicks and Beyonce up for some spectacular music award show once-in-a-lifetime moment. I think all they did was end up pissing off literally everybody.

Just a matter of time before she looks like she ate Aretha Franklin.

I heard. My wife went to the first with Janes Addiction and I think Ministry. I would have loved to have seen that. My best festival was probably the New Orleans Jazzfest.

Would never attend a festival... Too much money and time to see the few bands I'd want and be surrounded by people just there to be there and not for who I'd wanna see.

I remember a few years ago the stone roses headlined and everybody was pissed because they didn't know who the heck that was.. that says enough for me.. Most the time the headlines I'd wanna see play warm up shows and I see them

Jane's Addiction is nails on a chalk board to me. I cannot stand that guys voice.

The last time I went Tool played. They were incredible. Rise against was another big band, but I dislike their singer also.

I randomly saw Miike Snow on a side stage. It was a very interesting sound.

Yep. You can pretty much guarantee that if Beyonce is at an outdoor festival it is neither cool nor hip.

Lots of bands I would like to check out: Portugal the Man, Vance Joy, First Aid Kit, David Byrne, Alt-J (seen them once)...

And I'm sure there are others I don't know that I would love to discover, so hell yes I'd be all over it :headbanger:

(and I'm 39 :ninja: )

Is it like a coaching convention? I guess if I ever want to coach, sure.

If it was down the street and free I'd go

I remember looking at the long list of bands and only recognizing a few.
