Currently we have made (including keepers) 196 out of 360 picks (54.4%)... We have 14 days left (time to enter and finalize rosters and make sure that they are in the system before the first day (since any change to a roster doesn't happen until the following day)...

 

We have 164 picks left to go... If we do take 14 days, that will give us 11.7 picks a day, or one round...

 

That doesn't sound too bad, but there can be problems...

 

There are some people that will be going on vacation sometime soon and will be very hard pressed to make picks...

 

What I have been doing when someone is up, is texting the one on deck and the on in the hole to give them the heads up...

 

I know that life can get in the way, and totally understand, but if we could have a couple of days where we hammer out 3-4 rounds, I would feel much better...

Well said, Posty. Guys it's not too difficult to have a short list in your head. texting the next guy up after you finish your pick can be helpful to keeping it moving. IF you know you are going to be out of pocket, please let Posty know and/or put something on the discussion thread so all know your status.

Agree - yesterday was a good day - made it from 11.04 all the way to 15.02 - pretty impressive and exceeding expectations. Even at current pace, we should be done by this time next week, so that's not too bad.

 

That being said, a healthy 2-3 round per day pace would help relieve my OCD tendency of looking at this board and clicking the refresh button 8000 times per day. LOL

Anyway we could put a spreadsheet together of contact information? That way the burden doesn't just fall on a couple of guys. I've been trying to text people who's numbers I have saved in my phone but it's only a few of the 12.

I have sent out two emails with contact information on it... One after JMU rejoined the league and one right before the draft started...

Brom asked me, ...yesterday, ...if I am the commish. I replied that I am the league's "self-appointed draft facilitator ".

I am self-employed, ...borderline OCD , ...and have much more freedom than most, ...when it comes to putting projects on the back-burner, ...and assisting with pushing a draft forward.

 

I try to keep my finger on the pulse of this process. I have EVERYONE's phone number, ...and I text the 'next up' owner as soon as I see that a pick has been made. Then, ...I wait over an hour, ...maybe 90 minutes, ...to text again, "If you need a proxy, I am here for that". If everyone in the league did this, ...it would be a nightmare. With all of the above said, ...we seem to hit snag, or two, or three, ...each year. We need to make up for it with aggressive, ...attentive runs of picking. *sigh*

Well make it 164 picks in 13 days... For an average of 12.62 picks per day now. We really need a strong Saturday and Sunday at this point...

In the 18 hours since I made the initial post, we have made a total of 230 picks (including keepers)... Having 34 picks in a little over a day is great progress!!

 

I know that we will slow down over the weekend, but if we can have a Monday and/or Tuesday like the past 18 hours, I definitely won't be sweating as much...

I'd love to be done before Friday night as I have live big money drafts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well as an online draft on Saturday. So my accessibility this upcoming weekend will be cut down tremendously. The pinnacle of draft season is upon us!!
