The one, at least the version I watched, was pretty tame... They showed maybe three back-and-forth sawing motions and then went to black... Then came back with his head laying on top of his body...

I should think "beheading" would mean putting a head on something, while "de-heading" seems more apt to describe removing one's head.

Americans do not negotiate with terrorists. That's why this reporter is dead and so will the other reporter being held. It's a smart policy to avoid encouraging hostage taking.

Which is why I'm still perplexed why the US swapped several Guantanamo prisoners for that American soldier a few months back.?.?

I wish we could just skip to the part where we firebomb the whole Middle East and most of Africa.

Sucks for him and his family, but you think he would have learned his lesson when he was held hostage back in 2011 and not gone back to the area.

We should bomb the focking sh!t out of them for this. The only problem is the other journalist they have, but I can't see how it ends well for him regardless

Obama will make some comments on this at 12:45 Eastern.

Porobably over a Brat at the turn.

Not on the turn.

But he was on the links minutes after his brief remarks hacking up the course with Alonzo Mourning.

I don't think that it should be because of this instance but because of the many others.

He knew what he was getting into going there. I feel a lot more sympathetic to the countless of unarmed civilians they kilt.

Those people too, of course. But this guy was an American, so we have to respond in greater force IMO.

The rest of your statement is pretty damn silly. This guy put himself in harms way, yes, so that the world could see what was going on in a critical area. He should be celebrated for his bravery, not condemned

Apparently you have no idea what condemned means, because Sux did no such thing.

So what?

Do you have an issue with presidents playing golf after such statements?

EDGARTOWN, Mass. A United States Special Operations team tried and failed to rescue James Foley and other Americans held hostage in Syria during a secret mission in early July authorized by President Obama, senior administration officials said Wednesday.

A day after Sunni militants posted a video showing Mr. Foley being beheaded, officials described what they called a complicated operation in which several dozen commandos were dropped into a remote area of Syria where American intelligence agencies believed several hostages were being held by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. The officials said they believed a number of the terrorists were killed in the operation.

But when the Special Operations team arrived on the scene, the hostages were not there. Officials said the commandos exchanged fire with militants, and one American was slightly wounded when one of the United States aircraft came under fire.

All of the team members were evacuated successfully. It was not ultimately successful because the hostages were not present at the location of the operation, a senior administration official said, speaking on background about the mission. We obviously wish this had been successful.

Officials declined to say exactly how many hostages they were trying to rescue or to provide the names of the people who they believed were being held captive by the militants. I dont want to get into our assessment of specific names on that score, one official said.

Negotiator who reportedly was in contact with ISIS, reported tonight he felt the execution was mostly retaliation for US stepping in Iraq and helping Kurds.

Considering how much terrority ISIS conquered over the past 3-4 years, I'm surprised they did this. They should fear waking the sleeping giant.

Meh... I hate Obama as much as the next rational person, but this seems like a reach. Letting the world know that we're going to come and rescue our people, and kill as many of you as we can in the process, seems like a generally good thing.

I will ask again.

So what?

Do you have an issue with presidents playing golf after such statements?

Before Katrina, I played a hundred plus rounds of golf a year. I played a round the Saturday they announced a mandatory evacuation while I was on the course. Shot a 79 on the west championship course. I knew it would probably be my last round for a year as work would and did engulf my life.

As an insurance adjuster here, I was so Fawking busy that the thought of golf was a dream in the months ahead. I worked nonstop to handle all the claims I could to help all of those in need. I played my first round ten months after and felt guilt doing it.

Imagine being an insured who's home was devastated by Katrina and I told you "Sorry I can't deal with this today. My golf game is more important right now. I'll deal with you tomorrow."

I'd be fired and hung up! A tree. This president has no feeling of what's important in these times. He's a piece of Fawking sh!t who has no understandings for this countries problems. It's all about him and his discontent for his opposistion.

Did my post come across to you like I was condemning him? Well, my bad, I guess, cause that was not my intention at all.

Dude rolled the dice too many times and it finally came up snake eyes for him.

Much like a soldier that re-enlists multiple times and ends up dying at the hands of the enemy. The main difference is that the soldier doesn't or can't hide behind a "press" badge when sh1t goes wrong.

Bravery? No. Dood prolly lived for the adrenaline that came with his job, quite possibly thinking that nobody would fock with him because he was a reporter.

Did he deserve to die? Of course not. Did he knowingly put himself in harms way, knowing what the outcome might be? Well.duh.

American or not, his death should not be the Did my post come across to you like I was condemning him? Well, my bad, I guess, cause that was not my intention at all.

The rallying cry should be of the atrocities that they have already committed.

Yeah...its only about him and his discontent...never works the other way right?

BTW...what does any of this have to do with a president playing golf?

"Now watch this drive".

Which is the point...posty does not give a rat's behind about it other than it being Obama playing golf.

Seems the right (and mostly hacks on websites like this) are very hung up on this president's golf game when it never mattered before. Most of the recent presidents golfed. In good times and in bad. And if you think they are quietly relaxing on a golf course like you or I would...you are a moron.

I agree, if we are talking about our soldiers. This guy was a reporter and knew what he was getting into. Putting numerous soldier's lives at risk to get him out is dumb, IMO.

I feel bad for him and his family. He in no way deserved what he got from these animals, but that was a risk he was willing to take for a paycheck.

If we send in troops to get him out and some get killed in the process it gives the animals more incentive to take another reporter. Do nothing and the incentive lessens. The only incentive is shock value of a youtube beheading.
