Which website do you use for mocks?

fantasypros has a mock system that you can customize the rosters. You can get to it from that site or fftoolbox has a link to it also, but it is the same tool. You can complete a mock in less than 5 mins because you are not waiting for other people. It is all computerized and the other picks go in less than a second per pick until it is your turn again, and then you can take as long as you like. Kind of different than actually drafting with other people, but that might not be a bad thing as sometimes real people don't take mocks seriously anyhow and make lousy picks intentionally.
  2. Anybody else having problems finding the podcasts you are looking for at blogtalkradio? It seems like they changed their site around and I can't seem to get the results I am looking for when I search for fantasy football podcasts by the date filter. Can anybody give me some hints or tips on how to navigate the new layout over there? Thanks in advance...

5 awesome potential keepers, need to pick 3.

Trade Harvin for something decent. Then weigh your options on trading one of the other four and depending on the best deal you can get, keep the other three studs and whatever you got in the trade for the fourth stud. I don't think Harvin is even in the conversation with those other four players though. If you can't make a trade, I would keep Rice, Lynch and Graham most likely depending on your scoring system and lineup requirements. Also, I recently heard on one of the many podcasts I listen to that Lynch's DUI trial won't start until late Dec., after the FF season is over.

    Megatron #1 in a PPR?

Depends on your scoring system and starting lineup requirements like somebody else said. I doubt I would take him before Adp, Foster, Charles or Martin though, especially if you can only start 2 WR's.
  6. I would trade Rice for megatron for sure. Then you have arguably the two best WR's to plug in every week minus their byes and you should outscore every other team at that position by a ton. If you can hit on a few decent RB's in round 3-10 and get a solid QB and TE....your team should be very tough to beat and a contender in the playoffs. Plus, there is a chance that Rice might be somewhat of a bust this year and there is less risk of that with Megatron.
  7. Some people think that the Ravens are going to become more of a passing team in the future with Flacco getting more experienced and coming into his own. If that happens, then the concern would be that the RB's would get less carries in the future and that would obviously impact Rice negatively. I love the guy, but am concerned about the offensive scheme of the team going forward and the fact that Pierce looked real good late last year. As a result I have Rice at #7 in my RB rankings this year and would definately take Megatron and maybe AJ Green or BMarsh over him if it came down to it in a PPR redraft in the first round. But seems like you got good value for him at the #11 spot and I probably would have taken him there also...good luck.

Which fantasy football magazine do you use?

Magazines are useless. Either write down your own cheatsheets or go to a site like cheatsheetwarroom.com and make your life easier by dragging your players up and down as you wish and then right before draft day, print out your copies of your lists. Then I take a pencil and tier out the sheets, because you can't put them in tiers at that site, but it is free. Don't waste your money on outdated magazines though that were printed before training camps started.
  9. We utilize a version of Head to Head Plus that we modified from Mark Bond's concept that he created around 2002 or 03. My friend and I tweaked it slightly and we feel we improved it and it reflects the players performances on the field very well. The standings don't look traditional at all though, but our coaches all love the system. Instead of being like 9-4 at the end of the season, you will end up with a big # in the official standings, like 2,754 and so will all the other teams. Top six make the playoffs. The playoffs have evolved as well over the years. We use a total points system for week 14 only that the #3-#6 teams use to advance to week 15. The #1 and #2 seeds get a bye week and meet the two teams that advance from week 14 and then they use a mini H2H+ system that incorporates weeks 15 and 16 together to determine the SB champion. We use it for a redraft and a keeper league. The keeper league also has a strange rare system that involves keeping 2 "golden" keepers and 3 RFA (restricted free agent) keepers. It is an auction league and the RFA's get bid up by the other coaches and then when they are finished the original owner can match the highest bid or let their player go at that point. The golden keepers can be kept for a maximum of 3 years at the same price they paid initially. If anybody has any questions about this system and would like to try it out, feel free to PM me and I will walk you through the steps in setting up your league. We use RTsports to host those leagues, because it works well with our unique scoring system. MFL would probably work also and I play in leagues at MFL as well, but these two are my local $ leagues with people I know personally. The redraft has been around since 1999 and keeper was created in 2003.

How long have you been playing?

You guys might want to have some off season meetings and take a look at your rules every 5 years at least. I started in 1994 in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the Upper Crust Pizza restaurant in downtown Santa Fe. Now I live in Eugene, Oregon and coach in three leagues and am commissioner of two of them. Although I am not in the Upper Crust league any longer, I am fairly sure it is still in existence. My two local leagues in Eugene started in 1999 and we created a keeper league in 2003 with more complicated ideas like salary caps and two kinds of keepers. *golden's = 2, and restricted free agents = 3*
  12. Glad I stuck with Palmer in sunny San Diego = Carson Palmer 27-40, 314 yds passing (2 TDs), 1 INTs 1, 0 yds rushing (1 2XPs) Brady Quinn 10-17, 66 yds passing 0TDs 2 INTs 4, 39 yds rushing
  13. You may be correct. I have seen lots of people predicting a defensive game as well. For some reason I don't think it will play out like that and am hoping for a higher scoring outcome that forces the Palmer to throw more than the Bengals initially intend. Once again, I have been changing my mind the last few days and picked up Quinn off the WW. Then the wind keeps increasing in the KC game every time I look at the forcast. I have been burned by wind in the past and always play it safe when I can regarding the wind. Close call that is for sure...I wish I had better options. Not much else out there but C. Henne and R. Fitzpatrick. Good luck to you guys that are rolling B. Quinn out there in Arrowhead stadium.
  14. I have Palmer also and picked up Quinn on Wed. during the WW. I have been flipflopping about the decision and am now sticking with Palmer in sunny San Diego. The winds in the KC/CLE game are going to be 12-15 mph apparently and who knows it could be worse. Plus, what if they use Cribbs in some kind of wildcat formation? This could take away from Quinn's opportunities it seems to me. Good luck, either way. Edited 2 add: Also, I am hoping perhaps the Bengals will be inspired because of the Henry accident and perhaps get in a situation where they have to catch up with the Bolts high scoring offense. Then again, that could backfire if the Bengals D is inspired and plays great I guess. Anyhow, the weather helped make the decision for me in the end.

Commish needs advice on trade veto

Your commish is playing judge, jury and executioner! All trades should be passed, unless there is obvious collusion involved. You might want to quit that league next year and get in a righteous league without a power hungry commish...or get at least 5 or 6 other coaches to threaten to quit unless the commish runs the league correctly. *2 cents - OMM*
