Tiger is playing great. His biggest problem is that it isn't 2000-2009. It takes much lower scores to win big tournaments now than it did then. Competition is much, much better.

Yes and no.

Some big tournaments have spiked upwards, going seemingly lower than in TW's run..... but not all... And in fact, Field Scoring Averages have actually gone UP recently... 2015 and 2016, both years had scoring averages (across the board) higher than what we saw in 2007, 2008 and 2009. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/pga-tour-scoring-average-2007-to-2016

TW's problem isn't that it's not 2008-2009 and it takes going lower to win these days - TW's problem is that it's not 2008-2009 and he's not in his 30's anymore, his problem is that he doesn't drive it like he used to and can't avoid the blow up hole/round.

He would have had to have shot 65 today to tie for the lead after going 68 yesterday. It's not about head to head opponents as much as it is playing for a score. When -11 is the number at Bay Hill after two days, it's tough to get into contention. You're right about the big tournaments- that's probably where I'm mostly drawing my conclusions from.

It's TW, a guy who made his living and feasted on the 2nd and 3rd rounds. It's TW, a guy who won this tournament in the past at -19, -18, -15 and -13 four times.. The old TW was doing this already back then. It's bcoz he's 40+ years old and not the same why he's not among the leaders, not bcoz it's just that much harder...

You're saying Henrik Stenson today is far superior than 33 year old TW.....and that's ridiculous.
