joneo 529 Posted November 25, 2014 http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/more-sports/pacquiao-would-take-less-to-fight-mayweather-says-manager/ar-BBfKPyX Manny Pacquiao is open to taking a smaller purse in a dream match-up with undefeated American Floyd Mayweather, the Philippines boxing hero's business manager said Tuesday. "The talks are already going on. It is more of what the fans want. It's not about the pay (level). That's the least of his concerns," Pacquiao's business manager Eric Pineda told AFP. I'd watch this. KSB2424 3,082 Posted November 25, 2014 5 or 6 years ago, I would have paid an arm and a leg to watch that fight. Now, I don't care. They're both past their prime and the shine has worn off. Meh.

KSB2424 3,082 Posted November 25, 2014 it's nearly 2015 and it's boxing. NO ONE CARES! Interesting enough I think if this fight would have happend 5 years ago it would have had a chance to help save boxing, or at least exteneded it's life. But by them not fighting, or more specifically Mayweather ducking the fight, it only perpetuated the casual fans perceptions that Boxing sucks.
joneo 529 Posted November 25, 2014 Never said I would PAY to watch this, but still would be entertaining. Edjr how can you not care. Wouldn't it be great to see 2 guys pummel each other..... Vintage, old school style?

Vintage, old school style? Old school style is so rare. Never again will we see a Ward vs Gatti (which isn't that old mind you) No one boxes anymore. All they do is throw a punch and hold on and dance. I watched Klitschko the other night and I wanted to puke.

KSB2424 3,082 Posted November 25, 2014 Fair enough, I just think it would be a brawl. You've obviously never seen Mayweather fight. He doesn't brawl. He hits once then plays defense, holds and dances. Wins the round on points. Rinse and Repeat until he gets the decision. Don't get me wrong, he's been damn good at it, but brawling he doesn't do. Sugar Ray was my favorite ever and Money is a total punk.
NewbieJr 540 Posted November 25, 2014 Mayweather ran from Pac Man for 5 years. I would probably still watch it, even though both are past their prime. But it would be in a bar. No way would I fork over my money to give to that greedy pussie. And Mayweather is probably the only boxer who could actually make a Pacquiao fight boring. Sugar Ray was my favorite of all time too! I still can't believe he knocked out Hearns in the 14th round back in '81. It was one of the 1st PPV fights I'd ever seen - Hearns was winning on every card till then - all he had to do was stay away from Leonard.

I wanted John The Beast Mugabi to knock his ass out. He failed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHXYDaAtJDE Best comment of the fight when Leonard knocks him down "Hearns is not hurt" Imagine the fights were scheduled for 15 rounds

tanatastic 2,061 Posted November 26, 2014 Everyone would still watch but no one would be that excited as 5yrs ago. Maywether killed that to protect his undefeated record. Even tho hed prob beat manny! UFC fighting is far more exciting anyway.

And yet they are STILL the very best in the sport. Not the match up it was in 2010 but still a great and MUST SEE match. Hearing we might also get a GGG - Ward fight as well next year. The Moz 69 Posted December 14, 2014 You know Money will will have his usual list of Demands but his statement of lets fight May 2nd makes this the closest we have been to "the fight" . People want to say they are old now - maybe they are - they aren't as good as they were 5 years ago ... but they are still the 2 best fighters P4P in the world. patweisers44 697 Posted December 15, 2014 I focking hated Sugar Ray Leonard back then, and still hate the focker now. I hated hagler too, but at least respected the focker. Tommy Hearns quite possibly could have been a better fighter than either had he fought smarter. If he fights Leonard the way he fought Hagler and vice versa, he probably wins against both. But those eight minutes of fight with hagler were as good as anything you'll ever see. But fock ray leonard. Hearns was beating him soundly when the fight was stopped in the 14th, at least a little controversially. Duran smoked him the first fight and then Leonard got the rematch on his terms to take advantage of some flaws in Durans training methods. Against Hagler, ray leonard laid the blueprint for Mayweather's entire career. A small flurry or two in each round and then dancing around avoiding getting hit. Tommy Hearns pummelled leonard in their second fight, yet phaggy ray got the decision. A washed up Ray then beats an even more washed up Duran. Hardly ever rooted for Macho Camacho, but it was nice to see him fock up sugar ray. Fock Sugar Ray. A career of dictating terms, picking ripe spots, and gaining bullshiot decisions. He is on the Mt. Rushmore of my most hated athletes along with Chris Webber, Sidney Crosby, and the phagteam of Karl Malone and John Focking Stockton. Probably a few more on it as well. How does any fight fan HATE Hagler? Explain... Hagler was one of the most must see fighters to watch ever. Hagler /Hearns was the best 3 rounds in Boxing history. The only boring fight I ever watched him have was against Leonard who I agree was Mayweather before Mayweather -- and When SRL won a controversial decision he fake retired rather than have a rematch. I will agree that Money-Pac is like Hagler / SRL But Money is better than Sugar and Hagler at least IMO was better than Pac . I never thought Pac stood a chance against Mayweather just becasue Mayweather will run and counter . Pac had a tough time with JMM being a defensive counter puncher -- Money is ALOT better than JMM at both as he proved when he won every round against JMM. Maybe Pac wins 2-3 rounds and thats it. NewbieJr 540 Posted December 15, 2014 I loved all of those late-70's middle and welterweights. Hagler, Hearns, Duran, and Leonard. Those guys always wanted to fight the best. They didn't duck each other to keep their record in tact like Mayweather did. Yes, Leonard wasn't the puncher that the other three were, but his fights certainly weren't boring. He'd dance then move forward with quick flurries. Way more exciting than Snoozeweather.

Great article/interview with a ton of the key players in Hagler/Leonard. I scored it 7-5 Hagler, and if his manager hadn't gave the SRL camp the 3 rounds(12 vs 15), I doubt he loses that fight. Hagler, Hearns, SRL, Duran, JC Chaves, Tyson, Alexi, Pryor, Comacho, Don King was a POS !!! but he always made the fights everyone wanted to see.
