Tyrod Taylor to Browns...

Recommended Posts

Plus they picked up Landry.

This move is an interesting one for the stock of both J Gordon and Landry.

I don't see Taylor being a QB that can support both of these WRs.

Plus they have a good young Te.

Mmm.

I think Tyrod is a better QB than he's given credit for, but not sure he's the QB you want to man this offense. With the addition of Landry, a more polished passer would utilize the WR weapons better imo. Not sure it makes complete sense when i type it out, but I think Tyrod is a better fit for an offense that's missing some pieces and needs a spark out of the QB position.

John Dorsey wheeling and dealing. It sounds like they just gave up a 3rd round pick for Landry. I don't see how this can increase Landry's fantasy value even with Tyrod Taylor at QB.

Cleveland is acquiring Tyrod Taylor from the Dolphins and shipping DeShone Kizer to the Packers... and the new year doesn't start until March 14th. :shocking:

Actually a 4th (originally acquired for punter andy lee) and a 7th next year. Absolute robbery for the Browns.

Wonder what this does for the stock of the Dolphins players like Parker and Stills at the wr postion now that Landry is gone.

I don't have a lot of faith in Parker, I really don't think he has the heart to be the player he should be.

I wonder if this means that Cleveland will be picking up Saquon 1st now and a backup qb 4th.

That was my 3rd thought

1. Why would this team want Landry for only one year?

2. why do they want Taylor at all?

3. If these are the case, then probably Barkley at #1 but not a good fit for a QB at #4 unless they tell him to ignore what Taylor does.

This is crazy. Does Duke Johnson then become useless in the passing game? Why even have him?

Yeah, I know what you mean about Tyrod. Although McCoy had a good year. My thought is that they were going to get Darnold 1st. But now, if they get Saquon, I don't think the Giants are going QB 1st round. Same for the Colts at 3, so unless someone trades up to the Colts pick and takes Darnold, he just very well might be there at #4. And, Tyrod is not the definitive starter (not that we know, lol) so Darnold could very well win that position over (Although I'm a USC fan I still think he needs more experience), which could be good for Barkley. Even though I'm not a Cleveland fan, I've got to say that it's pretty fun watching them finally do something.

Good question about Duke. He's probably at home wondering the exact same thing. lol.

I think dealing Taylor is a sign of Buffalo going QB.

I do think the Browns will now draft Barkely.

hmm. Does Buffalo now come into play with Cousins? lol . Keep Peterman at backup and Cousins donns the red, white and blue.

I don't think it will happen but it's interesting to consider.

It's very interesting or even Keenum.

But I think they might just look at QB in the draft.

Forgot about Keenum, very true.

Buff is sitting at 21st. There's approx 6 teams with def QB needs above them. I want to see if Buff or Arizona (if neither get Keenum or Cousins) moves into Indi's spot. Which could screw up Clev's plans if they want Darnold at 4 (assuming they take Barkley 1st).

All these new scenarios with just a couple trades. :)

You think the Browns will still draft a QB even after they picked up Taylor?

Absolutely. It's been too long for them at that position. I think their MAIN priority now is either to get an immediate starter that's better than Taylor (Cousins/Foles? They didn't give up a ton for Taylor and they have $) or get a qb competition going. No one can read the mind's of the Browns, so.. lol. If they don't get Cousins (not that they're trying, idk) then every other QB in draft or FA is a competition waiting to happen and that's EXACTLY what they want (a competition between 2 QBs they have strong feelings for. Not Kizer who won by default so to speak). Keenum, McCarron, Bridgewater, etc. I think any of those are their top priorities if the $ is right (and it might be for a couple of them given their recent history). They've brought in the offensive weapons and I think they want, at minimum, a QB that's been around a bit that can feed the ball and just not turn it over (ak Alex Smith/before last year and I don't think they're 100% on Taylor). Whoever doesn't win the job, well, the other is a solid backup. If they DON'T land any of those then the draft it is and Taylor vs Darnold/Rosen/Baker it will be.

I talk about "Keenum, Bridge and McCarron" loosely, theories. They DID get Taylor, so win for them. I think at minimum, if Darnold, Rosen or Baker, was their previous #1 choice, they still go with him @#4 to compete against Taylor.

You guys cant possibly think Taylor was picked up to be their qb of the future. He was taken to be stop gap starter until their new draft pick is ready. A good move by browns although I wouldnt want my young QB watching Taylor for ANY tips on how to play NFL QB. He does nothing well besides run and throw 2yard passes to RBs and TE

Bills could trade for Foles...

That's what I'm hearing.

Agreed. A 1 year bridge, while whoever they grab at #4 sits for a season.

Is the one anomaly year of Keenum actually respected as potential starter material for a franchise? I'm not saying he is the worst, but it seems that he gets more respect than Nick Foles

Lol I'm not so sure, we are talking about the Browns.

I can't see that being the case, but once again this is the team that drafted Johnny Football.

And I totally agree with your assessment on the situation, of all the qbs avaliable why Taylor, I wouldn't want him to be teaching my rookie QB.

Thanks for the post m

mmm that's a tough one, that depends on how you feel about Kizer going forward.

Not a 3rd round pick... it was a pick we acquired for Punter andy lee.

Great move

More importantly... all this work by the browns FO will make us look better to free agents who previously wouldnt want to come here

well they invested quite a bit and gave him away after half a season, only to bring in a QB with the exact type of skillset that Kizer could have

Once again it rally just depends how me feels about Kizer going forward.

And we are indeed talking about the Browns, they haven't been known too make the best moves.

A 3rd round pick seems really rich for Tyrod. I like this move better than signing a guy who is going to demand a multi Year starter type deal like Keemun or even McCarron though. Gives them an immediate upgrade at the most important position on the team and a bridge to their rookie. The Browns need to draft their franchise QB at 1 overall now.

Tells me they gave up on Kizer and took the cheaper QB.

I don't think it's a good move for them.

Can they cut Tyrod after this season or does he become a free agent?

Both. He's signed for $16m this year and UFA next year.
