Congrats to the Red Sox Nation.

This Sox team will go down as one of the best ever.. And to think, Pedroia wasn't even there - wow.

Question - is this the greatest Red Sox team ever?

Probably. They pretty much dominated the entire reg season plus the playoffs.

Was there any team that had a .500 or winning record against them this year?

Yes. 108 wins and they win the WS. Beat two 100-win teams including defending champs to get to WS. They also went 11-3 in the postseason. Best record in preseason, regular season and post season. No other Red Sox teams have come close to that.

Regular season?

A few teams won the season series with the Sox, including Cleveland, Houston and Oakland.

That's interesting. All good teams, all made the playoffs, then:

Yanks beat A's

Astros beat Indians

Sox beat Yanks and Astros

Well the regular season series on those are maybe 7 game series. If the Sox went 3-4, then they lost the series, but it does not mean that they weren't the better team. It all depends on what you do in October.

MLB sucks.

such a weak, watered down product.

I want to watch players play, not managers manage.

Fock David Price. Please leave

Smoke and mirrors - edjr

Sale, Eovaldi, Price, pitching 8th and 9th innings.

Top 4 hitters minus Aben, sucked, most didn't even show up. Yay betts hit a solo HR in a game they won by 4

Betts and Bogey were dreadful.

Steve Pearce best hitter.

definition of smoke and mirrors.

Have to give credit. Starting with JD Martinez. Great signing. Boegarts went down for a while, lost Pedroia, Sale out for a while and the closer all of a sudden became a shake box. They kept it together. Buried the Yankees in July, never letting them really get close. The Sox have now won 4 WS with three different managers. If I'm Cora I don't get too crazy asking for a raise.

MLB is not what it used to be. There are more playoff teams and less options to build the perfect team. Every team has flaws. The Sox had flaws that were masked in October:

- shaky bullpen > use the extra starters to bridge to your closer and score lots of runs

- bats going silent at times > get 2 out hits to score your runs

- unclutch postseason pitching > not sure how they got Price to grow some hair on his balls, but they did

Biggest bargain of all time in sports. Cora's contract this year.

Will get 3+ mill per for 5 years

Special thank you to Dave Roberts for helping the Red Sox win 2 of their last 4 WS

I know. That AFC title in 07 is still memorable though.
