Ehh, it's the world we live in. Had any team not gone to the White House before Donald Trump became President?

As far as Kaep, he brought it on himself. Nobody wants that distraction for an average backup QB. It blows my mind people think he is one of the top QB's and nobody will sign him. If he was good, he would be rostered despite the distraction.

Noone will ever understand this. The guy is a bad QB who would hog all the attention. Who needs that crap in a sport that defines team play.

I think he's as good as other backup QB's but not by any huge margin. The distraction he would bring to a team and the locker room isn't worth it though in my opinion.

It is kinda similar to Tim Tebow.

No. Because current backups aren't getting mobbed by reporters day after day to discuss non football and non team topics.

So do you see a hypothetical double standard.

Based on if he was a, let's say a top five QB in the NFL right now, do you think he would have a job today?

I think if he was a super start top five QB he's on a roster, but because he's now he's out of the NFL.

And that's what I don't like of the situation.

I think he is clearly better then some other back up qbs, but I do agree no one wants that type of non football issue on their team, unless he was a top five QB, or for that matter a top five player at any postion.

Winning is not about having a non essential player taking headlines. Some teams put up with the drama for good players, but not bad or even backup level players. Even if that bad player is a mediocre backup. In my company an average employee would get let go for social miscues according to company rules. But the better you are, the more leeway might be given.

Most players get different salaries depending on what a team thinks they bring to the team. They also are get hired or not hired based this same thing. This happens in all walks of life.

Incorrect. It is not a double standard. it is not just how fast you run or how far you throw the ball. The complete player including baggage is factored in. And top QBs are better leaders overall.

I imagine if someone is in sales has $2 million in sales last year and another guy has $10,000 in sales in the same period, that gets factored in if they each screw something up in the same manner. It's all about the complete picture of the individual not just one thing.

Any team that signed karpernick would instantly have a media frenzy. Not just him being asked, every other player and coach constantly being asked questions.

Then it would be constant crap about are you going to kneel with him? For every other player. The locker room would be distracted, and probably divided.

Fans would also be p!ssed, whatever happened, one side or the other.

All that grief for a mediocre backup qb who hasnt played in over a year?

Why? Hell, the guy who beat him out in San Francisco (Gabbert) was available for quite a while until the titans signed him. He can hold a clipboard just fine, play better if needed, and not be a major freaking PR nightmare.

Sometimes taking a stand has consequences. Suck it up.

Lol your wrong and you know it.

If let's say Brady was too do what Kap did is he still playing in the NFL, you know he would be.

Teams have put up with crap from other star players and let them let away with it based solely on talent.

And even more important to the league and to the teams, money.

So what? He is not crying poor. He didn't give bonuses or advertising $s. What's his point? He's a person who is donating some dollars like most rich folks do but he went from radio station to station to boast about it.

Difference with this guy is he is celebrating himself where most NON celebs who donate keep it to themselves. Not needing your love or approval.

Of course its a double standard.

Its like if you have a girlfriend who has a really annoying voice and chews with her mouth open. Youll put up with it if shes a 9 and a freak in the sack.

If she puts on 20 lbs and stops giving it up, shes gone.

Isn't Proverbs 15 the one that references annoying girlfriends who put on 20 lbs?  How fitting.

But seriously, of course it's a double standard. There's no debate.  If Aaron Rodgers starting taking a knee and the Packers cut him, he'd be unemployed for five minutes.

As much as I can't stand Trump, I'd visit the White House in a heartbeat.  Think how many porn stars, playmates and lonely Slovenian women you could run into!

I don't get all this talk about double standards with kaepernick. NFL teams just like any other business out there hires and fires based on the evaluation of the complete person. This includes their level of talent mixed with their "intangibles".
Such as leadership qualities, personality, ability to follow rules, ability to handle tough situations, criminal background, general behavior, etc...

If you are better in some areas, that can make up for deficiencies in other areas. For example, being a good leader, having a relentless work ethic, and being an overall team player may make up for some deficiencies in play. He may get the nod over a guy who is a little better player who is a downright mess in the locker room or media. And the same vice versa.

It has nothing to do with double standards.

Ok so if Brady had done exactly what Kap did, is he still playing in the NFL.

Everyone no matter the person , no matter how good of a leader as feelings about something, everyone.

So if a talent like Brady did exactly what Kap did is he still playing QB in the NFL

So take the dare, does he still have a job as a QB in the NFL?

I'm double dare you.

Lol.

You keep calling kaepernick a better player than other QBs in the league. And those other players have jobs in the NFL. And kaepernick doesn't. So where is the double standard? Teams are not hiring him because he is "better" at throwing the ball. It all just gets down to what the teams want. And they don't want him.

His talent level does not make up for his deficiencies.

I'd visit the White House in a heartbeat.  Think how many porn stars, playmates and lonely Slovenian women you could run into!

Trump definitely has better taste in women than clinton. How would you like to go to the white house and keep running into a naked monica lewinsky?

One thing is for sure, clinton has no double standards for his women. Heck, just look at his shrew of a wife.

He will dive into anything.

Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, Gennifer Flowers, and many other dogs... They know the love. Woof.

While political debate is certainly worthy, lets keep that in the geek club where it belongs.

You didn't answer the question once again.

Do you think you might answer the question.

If he was a top five QB in the league would he have a job today in the NFL, now step up and answer one question.

I know your yellow, and afraid to be judged, but man up and answer that one little question.

I bet you won't.

Nobody wants kaepernick. Get over it. If Brady was as bad at QB as kaepernick is, and Brady pulled all that crap, Brady would be out of the league too. Yes Brady. Out of the league if he sucked that bad.

Kaep turned activist when the handwriting was already on the wall about the limitation of his QB abilities.  I really don't see the point in debating this any further.  :dunno:

That’s right, debate over.  In a league where guys like Christian Hackenberg and Geno Smith are making $1 million+ , Kaepernick figured he couldn’t compete with guys of that caliber and decided he might as well become a national pariah since he had no other options.  You must have been the captain of your High School debate team.

How about this age old argument:

"Teams don't want him."

I'll buy that one all day.

Leave it to a hater like you to turn giving a years salary to charity into a bad thing.

I just checked and Chris Long is still a Super Bowl Champion. :first:
