Hes now overvalued. Hard to see him topping or even reaching last years stats. Smith played MVP ball.

Why would he regress?? Do awesome players regress? They don't, that's why they are good in the first place. Do you people really watch what Tyreek does and not see the incredible talent? Talent that no one else in this league displays quite like him? I don't get why people aren't getting more excited that the 2nd year QB seems to only have eyes for Tyreek, and he can actually take advantage of his ridiculous speed. Hill had a very good season last year and scored all his TDs from 40 yards out or more, right? He did most of that getting the ball underneath and then getting past the defense after he had the ball in his hands. He is still going to get that underneath work, but now the defense will have to be much more honest about covering him deep. To me, this looks like a match that could lead to something special. I know some of us are excited about him.

anytime there is a change in QB there is always the risk that the connection wont happen immediately.

sometimes it takes a few games. occasionally it will take almost a whole season to get on the same page. in the meantime if the QB establishes a connection with another Receiver it could end up meaning he wont get the volume you think he will get.

thats where your risk is.

the good news is that Mahomes was the backup QB on the same team last year, so I expect the transition wont be as severe as you would see with a QB coming in fresh. Mahomes knows the system and knows the player (at least to some degree) so I think that connection will come sooner rather than later.

I still think 2nd round is pushing it. but I'd draft in the latter half of round 3 without questioning the decision.

I don't see him regressing, now that he has a QB that can throw it 100 yards downfield.

Why would he regress?? .

His ceiling is still higher than last year numbers but his floor is also lower. Can’t really say otherwise considering a new QB with unknown potential, a new WR (I despise Sammy but he’s not completely useless), and an offense that generally funnels throughnthe TE and run game.

Preaseason.

Laughs.

You people.

So you set your rankings before the preseason, and then you don't adjust them at all from what you see?

Aside from injuries and rookie evaluations that’s the smart thing. We all knew Tyreek was special. Watching him be special shouldn’t change anything.

My rankings havent change on him at all on him. They have on other players though. Would we know Chris Warren looks like a legit RB if there was no preseason? I think as long as people take what they see in context, its a great tool. If a number one offense destroys a 3rd string defense, then yeah we need to stop from overreacting.

If we didn't have preseason, I would never have never drafted Victor Cruz When he bust onto the scene

Fair points. There are plenty of exceptions to every rule in football, have to keep fluid.

I don’t think he will out produce last season.

I really think Watkins is the best wr2 he had to compete with.

And even though Watkins hasn’t done anything in the Preseason, and Hill has been the next Jerry Rice.

I think it’s still preseason.

I think Kelce Watkins and Hunt will have a much bigger impact in the passing game once the reg season starts.

Not too say Hill won’t be good, and again I think he could be a low wr1 but I like him more as a high wr2.

He just will scores less then last season, not a lot less but less.

Hey thanks.

Hill is a special talent on a team who wants to find ways to get him the ball. I believe that supersedes them having a second year QB (that is considered very good by the way). KC has weapons, and can easily get Hill many touches in space in various ways. I don't see him having worse stats than last year at all. I think he has a higher floor, and an unlimited ceiling.

This. I just traded Julio for him in dynasty. His speed, his ability to go get the ball, his vision, if he gets route running down he's going to be a faster AB. He literally does everything and he does it in fast forward. This guy is undervalued IMO, severely by some people.

yahoo article...just saying

4. Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (ADP 30.8, WR13)

Since July, Hill’s ADP has, mercifully, come down. Still, I’m not buying that he’ll score enough to warrant WR1 consideration. Targeted just four times in the red area of the field, only one of Hill’s seven touchdowns came via a reception in the red zone last year. The other six spikes were born out of the speedster’s ability to rack up yards after the catch (423 yards, WR 8).

The question remains whether or not Andy Reid can consistently scheme to get Hill into space, where he can wreak havoc and pile on the points. Based on last year’s data, it seems unlikely. Before Reid handed the clipboard over to Matt Nagy, Hill produced top-twelve fantasy numbers in only two efforts (Weeks 1 and 7). For the four weeks that Nagy was in charge, Hill fell inside the top-twelve producers at the position three separate times. No wonder Chicago hired Nagy away.

The Chiefs’ addition of Sammy Watkins further clouds the issue. While Hill has been looked to more than his new teammate throughout the preseason, Watkins appears to be catching up. Recent reports suggest that he and QB Pat Mahomes are “starting to synch” and that the Clemson product is beginning to carve out a role in KC’s offense. The last thing fantasy owners need is Hill seeing fewer opportunities, especially when he’s already in possession of such a boom or bust skill set. Even in the third round, that’s some high-priced volatility.

I would agree that Mahomes is considered to be a very good young Qb.

Last season T Hill had a great season, I think he was in the top five in non ppr even.

But I do think Watkins will take work from him, of course a young qbs best friend always seems to be a te and kc has one of the best in the nfl.

I think Hunt will be even more involved in the passing game, and I think Hunt will even have more rushing att then last season.

And Ware if hes ready to play will have some work also.

Also remember that A Smith had his best season ever in the NFL last season and expecally in ff.

Im not so sure I would count on Mahomes marching that season Smith had last season.

So any drop off just from the Qb postion I think can hurt any wr.

But we shall see soon, here comes the boom.

Sammy Watkins.

Hill regresses.

Next topic.

hill was 14 for 14. Watkins did not catch 5 balls all preseason and was essentially invisible.

Well I for one appreciate the doubt that has crept into many people's minds. I drafted him in the third round, and I was told by a few owners they almost took Hill before he got to me.

Thank you doubters for keeping his price low for one last year

I love Tyreek this year... I'm torn to stack him with Diggs at the turn (2/3) if howard isn't there... I may do so anyway as the freak and diggs are giving me the warm fuzzies this year

Diggs will probably miss a few games, he can be frustrating to own.

he is not a wr1. However. He could destroy a number 2 corner.

I’m with you Kilroy.

I’ve never been on the Watkins bandwagon, but I think this is a good spot for him.

He doesn’t have to be the wr1 and won’t be, so he could get some good matchups.

He won’t post his best season, but he will have a good one, and will be a little thorn to those that own t hill

I expect for Hill to have another very good season, I just think with first year starting Qb, I can see a little less trust in the Qb then last season with A smith. I see more work for Hunt, and expecally in the check down passing game.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this situation playes out.

Thanks.

Have 2nd pick in a 10 team and am contemplating drafting Hill with my 2nd round pick. I'd be taking im over guys like Freeman and McCaffery. League is a PPR and return yardage league so Hill gets an extra boost. So does McCaffery. Last year Hill finished 10th overall among RB/WR/TE in our league. But with RB being so thin it makes me pause and consider either McCaffery/Freeman/Fournette at 19

What does everything think of taking Hill at 19 given my league scoring?

All of those guys I mentioned have been falling into the 2nd round of my mocks. Yes, there is a possibility they will all be gone by 19 but I'm guessing some will slip. Especially since guys love to grab QBs early in my league.

Was it last year or year before that people were hyping him up? He had like one good 4 game stretch or something to end a season and people were all over him. I said I was leaving him off my bird entirely and got called a lunatic. Wasnt having anything to do with Watkins within 4 rounds of his adp that year.

Hills second year growth as a receiver is a HUGE part of Alex Smith's elevated game last year. I'm drinking the Kool aid! Hill2018 110/1580/15TDS

I see hill and mahomes like a cullpepper to moss connection. A qb that can drop bombs like Hiroshima and a wr that can't be overthrown.

I stacked also. In a superflex league that awards big bonus for both 40 yard catches/passes/runs and 40 yard tds i took hill in the 3rd and mahomes in the 4th.

To put that in perspective. The 69 yard bomb they hooked up on in the preseason would have been almost 60 points between the stack.
