Chinese teen sets new world record

Recommended Posts

Que Jianyu, a 13-year-old teenager from Xiamen in southeast China, broke a Guinness World Record for the fastest time to solve three Rubik’s Cubes simultaneously with both hands and feet on Oct. 13. He also holds other records, like solving multiple cubes while juggling.

my son can solve one in under 30 seconds. he has like 5x5 and 6x6 ones too. and he's says regular rubiks are trash. uses these high speed cubes that turn like butter.

To do it fast you have to memorize all these algorithms and patterns. I hate memorizing and am just happy to get it done so I solve it by just memorizing two four turn sequences:

L U L' U'

and it's opposite

R U R' U'

and knowing when/how to apply them.

I'm just more impressed with the kid's dexterity. I realize millions of people can do it. I think this kid first solved it when he was two.
