I'm the last guy to give a crap about phone apps, but...

MakeApp.

Apparently, you can take a picture of someone and it will use filters and what not to show you an image of what that person looks like without makeup.

Hey, it only took 10 years for smartphones to do something worthwhile.

Dude should win a Nobel Prize or whatever. Brilliant if it actually works.

Interesting concept.

I wonder what feminists will think of this. Will they applaud the effort for helping remove the desire of women to not accept their 'true beauty' or will they complain that this is yet another way of men disarming women to point out their flaws.

Maybe women will come up with an app that estimates the size of a guy's crank. Or maybe their earning potential.

No apparently they hate it. It was created by a man (which they made SURE to point out). And have been b1tching and moaning about it

It would have to be a really sophisticated app to get that right. Due to online tutorials & communities and the evolution of the beauty industry, for the average young woman who's into makeup, it's mostly about technique and not necessarily layers (though some are big on both), and something like having your brows 'on fleek' can make a huge difference. It would have to be smart enough to know what your natural eyebrows would look like based on your bone structure, ethnic traits and so forth. A lot of young women are basically becoming artists because of the time and effort put in to study techniques, even though the goal is simply to look pretty. We've come a long way from teenagers wearing unflattering makeup because they don't know better.

Personally I wouldn't care about the app. Anyone you're with longterm is going to know what you look like in your most raw moments eventually. Good skin and the brows on fleek (that's probably not a term thing now, I'm old) is what I aim for at the base.

From what I've seen, I think it's safe to blame the Kardashians 4 the unnatural overuse of makeup and turning it into a freaking art form.

Refunery 29 reports that upon testing it out, their staffers noticed that the filter didn't actually show them bare-faced. Rather, it was the app's idea of what they would look like without makeup adding redness and dullness to the skin where none even existed.

It's not smart enough to cancel out what products and sculpting are actually doing, it operates off of very general ideas of what general products address, apparently. It should be called uglify...were it not mainly in existence as a tool for seeing what added makeup would look like.

Pretty much. There was a few big beauty bloggers & vloggers before the Kardashians really got into it. They actually joined a wave but then brought in a much wider audience because of the influence of their overall 'brand'/cult of personality.

WTForecast. Go to settings and turn off profanity filter. Great weather app.

Look at the hummingbird, blue bird, chicken, for example.

The male is naturally bright colored and vibrant.

The female, meh, dull and could use a little make-up.

Yes. Everyone here knows you like your men in bright colors. You've shown that
