SpenceToons 70 Posted December 11, 2017 It looks like it might be a tough night for RBs....so I'll take that WR impersonation from Bell.

SpenceToons 70 Posted December 11, 2017 Nice to see Collins looking more like the RB we saw in the first game against PIT than the sliding YPC guy we'd seen over the past few games.
nobody 2,031 Posted December 11, 2017 Geez i had to turn off the game for a couple hours. Turn it on 6 minutes left in the 4th and it's 38-29 ravens
nobody 2,031 Posted December 11, 2017 I see baltimore sitting back in that prevent. So it should be anyone's game.
nobody 2,031 Posted December 11, 2017 At least it took them 2 minutes to score. I hate that soft zone so much. Then baltimore plays the onsides. Hey dumbshïts, you just let them score a touchdown. All they need is fieldgoal. Of course they're kicking deep.
nobody 2,031 Posted December 11, 2017 I'm surprised leveon released when they brought that overload blitz on 1st down.
nobody 2,031 Posted December 11, 2017 What the hell are the steelers doing. 52 seconds. 2nd and 8. Ravens have 1 timeout. They throw it. Run on 2nd down. Ravens timoeout with about 45 seconds. Then you run on 3rd down and you're kicking the game winner with 5 seconds or so left and time expires as the kick goes through. Weird.
stonewall 647 Posted December 11, 2017 Another Steelers/Ravens classic...
SpenceToons 70 Posted December 11, 2017 Despite the Ravens leading by 11 and by 9 at different points in the 2nd half, I never did buy into the possibility the Steelers were going to lose. I just felt BAL was forcing them to keep it interesting. But that turned out to be close.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted December 11, 2017 Still don't understand the timeout charged for Maclin getting hurt. The clock was stopped anyway for the incomplete pass. You charge a timeout if there is an injury with a moving clock.

You charge a timeout if there is an injury with a moving clock. And why would you wind the clock when there is a fumble out of bounds? It should be just like any other play, out of bounds at 5:00 or less stops the clock. Yet again the refs manage to ruin what could have been an interesting end to the game. (And I say that as a Steeler fan.)

The winding of the clock on the fumble out of bounds is the rule. It prevents a guy about to be tackled intentionally fumbling out of bounds to stop the clock. Ball reverts to spot of fumble and clock moves when spotted.
brotherbock 349 Posted December 11, 2017 Geez i had to turn off the game for a couple hours. Turn it on 6 minutes left in the 4th and it's 38-29 ravens I was down in the basement installing a whole-house humidifier. Just had the feeling that Alex Collins was going to beat me up. Came back upstairs for the final couple of minutes to see that AB managed to outdo him by a point. Whew. Not over yet, but that could have been worse for me. nobody 2,031 Posted December 11, 2017 Still don't understand the timeout charged for Maclin getting hurt. The clock was stopped anyway for the incomplete pass. You charge a timeout if there is an injury with a moving clock. "If a player is injured and his team has timeouts remaining in that half, a timeout is automatically charged to that team to allow the injured player to be removed from the field. If a team is out of timeouts, they are allowed an otherwise-excessive "fourth timeout". However, to minimize the feigning of injuries to save game clock time, any subsequent injuries after the fourth timeout result in a five-yard penalty. In addition to an excessive timeout, there is a 10-second runoff (if it was an offensive player that was injured) or the play clock is reset to 40 seconds (if it was a defensive player)." They should've faked an injury to get their timeout back. Thats what belichick would've done.

If the player is injured on a play where the clock is stopped anyway, what is the rationale for requiring them to use a timeout? Here is the actual text of the rule: ARTICLE 4. INJURY TIMEOUTS AFTER TWO-MINUTE WARNING OF EITHER HALF. After the two-minute warning of a half, the following shall apply: (a) If a team has not used its three charged team timeouts, the team of the injured player will be charged a team timeout, unless: (1) the injury is the result of a foul by an opponent; or (2) the injury occurs during a down in which there is a change of possession, a touchdown, a safety, a successful field goal, or an attempted Try. Here is the actual text of the rule: I'm guessing it's because there's no set duration of an injury stoppage. A faked injury would give a team a lot more than the 40 seconds of the play clock. Maulers1973 117 Posted December 11, 2017 I'm pretty sure that AB pushed off on every deep ball Big Ben threw him. It's why he went out of bounds on all of them and didn't score on any of them. It wasn't the defender pushing him out of bounds, it was himself as he pushed off the defender. I guess if your name is Antonio Brown you can get away with that on every deep ball. I'm a Steelers fan and made the same comment last night during the game. Little push to the hip of the defender just about every time. But he never really extends the arm fully and the timing is off the charts. Little push happen right before the hands go up for the catch. It's pretty subtle in real-time. That being said, if Flacco and those WR's can shred the Steelers defense like that, Brady is licking is chops for the 50 he's about to hang on them.
