vrabinec 19 Posted July 22, 2014 Sure is nice if your guy is either playing in a dome or a warm weather site for those last 3 games, QBs & WRs in particular (I don't think it matters for RBs). For instance, if you've got Aaron Rodgers, 2 of his last 3 games are in Green Bay and Buffalo. The winds will be kickin' just as the playoffs are going on. If you've got Matt Ryan, he's got 3 dome games to close out the season. Whatever advantage Rodgers might have given you over Ryan all year, could be wiped out come playoffs.
WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted July 22, 2014 I don't really worry about it. You have to make the playoffs first. Don't get too far ahead of yourself. Maybe if you have two players dead even you might take a look at their late season SoS but it's not a deal breaker.

Unless you play up to week 17 this isn't true. Week 14 Ryan is in Green Bay and week 16 he's at New Orleans. Ryan is historically worse on the road. The other thing to factor in is all the crazy things that will happen during the season. Its a nice tiebreaker for closely ranked players...but its very low on the importance scale
vrabinec 19 Posted July 22, 2014 I'm thinking this way, you're in the 3rd round and Rodgers is still there. You've got your stud RB and either your #2 or your #1WR. You can take Rodgers or your TE #2 RB or #1 WR, you gotta keep in mind that Rodgers has a tough weather schedule come playoff time. I'd pass and take the position player, then look for a dome guy like Luck next round or Ryan way down the draft.

The only weather that really impacts players is wind and heavy rain/snow....even then players can still post solid stats. There's no way of knowing if those things will occur 5 months from now. All you know is it'll be cold. Who cares. Take the best players....form the best team. That's all you really need to worry about now.
Upper Class Trash 67 Posted July 22, 2014 I like to purchase The Farmer's Almanac and make my selections based on that. If there is a full moon in Indianapolis during a home playoff game, I know to avoid Luck. His statistics during a full moon are horrible. Like someone else posted above; Worry about making the playoffs first. The only time I've ever had the 1.01 in a high dollar redraft, I selected Jamaal Charles first overall, partly because his playoff schedule was a breeze. His ADP was 1.04, but two of his playoff games would have been at home, which made a difference to me. He just happened to tear up his knee and miss the season, oh, and the playoffs. I make take one player over another if they are ranked closely and one plays in a dome vs. one outside in a cold weather city.... Really though, that doesn't happen often. The best players are the best players. I'm not selecting a player I have ranked lower based on his fantasy playoff schedule as he may not make it that far. Lesson learned. lol
DrG 94 Posted July 22, 2014 It is a factor but not the primary one Acquire productive talent first and te shall win
BufordT 371 Posted July 22, 2014 I always look at weeks 13-16 when making a mid-season trade. Crazy not to. Mostly for tough matchups, though, not possible weather conditions.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted July 22, 2014 Yea the weather is important. It really screwed over Mcoy last year in the snow game. Oh wait no, he went off for godly stats that game. Just pick the best players who you think will score the most and hope you get lucky, thats 100% of the FF strategy you need to know. Strength of schedule and weather are bull. The defenses shuffle yearly, worst to first, surprises etc, and weather is too far off to care about.
Matt Mueller 146 Posted July 23, 2014 I mean Flacco to me in Pittsburgh and Cinci is always gonna look bad. Brees home is always gonna look much better than Brees at Carolina and Seattle.
Boilermaker04 11 Posted July 24, 2014 It is something I look at, but it is a smaller factor overall. Making sure they team can get to those weeks is top priority, smooth sailing an added bonus. I am surprised how many people say they ignore it... How can you ignore schedules?
Hawkfin 32 Posted July 24, 2014 Yep, I look at it big time along with the first 3 weeks in which we play div games. Sometimes I'll even go as far as looking at 11-13 as well. I figure I'll get there so why not try to get the best matchups when I'm there. To me it helps separate my tiers and/or players that I really want. (Especially in my first 3 round draft picks, the QB & TE & Def that I will decide between) It's not the weather that is my factor, but it's the potential for a high scoring game matchup, home games, easy matchups, Primetime, etc. (Or it's this process in reverse - Eliminating/Downgrading certain ugly multiple matchups) With the playoff's being more luck then any other part of F.F. IMO, I feel this is an edge to try and factor the luck side of things. If I don't make it in then I probably wasn't going to anyway.
