Meglamaniac 380 Posted September 19, 2017 Good to hear - how is you place, all ok? How about all you cooking gear - did it survive too? Home had 10 inches of standing water, bottom selves of all rooms are a total loss and about 1/2 our furnishings. Water got as high as the firebox on the trailer smoker but did not enter the cooking chamber, it will need a good cleaning from a pressure washer but should be OK. Lost all major appliances, saved most of my electronics and both vehicles were not damaged. Contractor says after FEMA adjuster visits will be 12 to 16 weeks of work before it is livable. jerryskids 5,172 Posted September 19, 2017 Sorry to hear. I think we've talked about my bro being in Jax; he lives near the Mayo Clinic on the south end of town near 95. They lost a hooge tree which luckily fell on a fence and not a house. Also part of a fence and minimal damage to a screened in lanai. Guess he got lucky; I didn't know Irma hit Jax that hard. I'm less than 2 blocks from the St Johns river and the storm serge breached the bulkheads in our area.

Meglamaniac 380 Posted September 19, 2017 And friend in Ponte Vedra called it just another storm. I've been through 7 in this house, never has the serge reached my front porch, much less 4 feet higher to breach my window seals and doors. At about 1pm Monday there was nowhere else for the water to go, it started coming up through our floors, was straight out of a horror movie.
