    Rank the schmucks

Zach Miller - Good redzone target for Big Ben and should be good for 50+ receptions. Owen Daniels - One of the quietest 63 catch, 768 yard seasons for a TE. Only had 3 TDs, which is down from his rookie year's 5. Greg Olsen - Could emerge as the #1 passing option in a ball control offence. Has long play potential with his speed and the Bears WRs sort of suck. LJ Smith - Could have a 60 catch season if healthy with the Eagles. He was obviously important within Philly's West Coas Offence because they franchised him Ben Watson - Mainly a redzone threat. Moss and Welker being on the team directly affect his opportunities. this offseason. Dustin Keller - Has looked impressive in the preseason and Favre is okay with using his TEs. Creates mismatches with his athletic ability. Large upside on this guy. Kevin Boss - He isn't Jeremy Shockey. Good for 2-4 catches a game, but their playmakers are on different spots of the field. Randy McMichael - Might not be a good fit for that offence. Just was under used last season.

    A. Bradshaw vs D. Ward

I couldn't agree more. With Jacobs they will be RBBC. Without Jacobs they will be RBBC. That line makes whoever is in there a decent start, but it's tough to guarentee touches to one guy. Personally I'm not big on Jacobs. Probably 800 yards 10 Tds. That isn't bad, but not worth a 2nd or maybe even a 3rd round pick.

    LJ vs Portis

I'm on the Portis bandwaggon. He's just the kind of consistent player for your fantasy team. LJ is more of a boom/bust type pick.

    McGahee To Get Cut?

The head coach there John Harbaugh has come out and said McGahee is the #1, case closed. This is just a rumor.

    A. Bradshaw vs D. Ward

Then screw getting the hand-cuff. Think of it this way. It's a 10 team league and it looks like rosters are 13 large. Correct me if I'm wrong, but starters are QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, D, and K. That's 8 spots. With only 5 bench spots available is having a hand cuff really that valuable? In my league I've got AP and ignored the handcuff to get Kevin Smith because Smith can give around the same production as Taylor would if AP went down and he can contribute while AP is healthy. Besides if AP is healthy for the first 4 weeks (knock on wood) whomever has Taylor will probably drop him because they need the extra bench spot because either a couple of their starters are on bye or they are sick of looking at him not doing nothing.

    Westbrook or Brady #2 overall?

This is a tough call. The extra 2 points per TD pass could be huge. Here's my quick take on Brady - It's not possible to project the same sort of statistical production he had last year. After the Philly game where they went into a different nickle D to compensate things changed a bit. Other teams followed suite and games started getting tight. Also, Billy B must have watched the Superbowl tapes and wondering 'If I had a decent running game would the pass rush have been forced to be honest?'. It's a good question and this year they are loaded with fresh runningbacks (Maroney, Morris, and now Jordan). My guess is that they will run a lot more than many fantasy owners are expecting. I think the 30 passing TD is a real good benchmark, but with that being said you have to compare the other QBs around the 30TD mark (Manning, Romo, and Brees-who I love this year), where you could get them, and compare to what kind of comparable RB you can get in the 2nd or later rounds. Go with Westy or maybe AP, who should also be looked at here. Here's my argument for AP: Last year AP got 1341 yards, 12 TDs on 238 carries. That works out to 14.75 rushes and 84 yards per game. That includes the few games he missed due to injury late in the year. Going into this season Taylor, so he should average more touches. Let's say his TD% and YPC are around the same as last year and he averages 20 carries per game (which is reasonable). His projected stats would be: 320 carries 1800 yards 16 TDs Of course that doesn't include any receptions he might get and it doesn't factor in the injury bug. The interesting point about the injury bug is that whatever you factor in for AP you should factor in with Brian Westbrook. Many forget, but last year he missed a game due to injury as well and he has never played in a full 16 games a season throughout his entire career. Some food for thought.
  7. Mason's stats are very misleading. He had a moster reception year with 103, but only had 5 TDs to show. Then ask, what happened in Baltimore where he got so many catches? Mark Clayton, the guy that was supposed to step up was injured Todd Heap, McNair's comfort guy missed 10 games due to injury Baltimore was horrible and had to pass more than they wanted McNair had a long standing relationship with him - Of the 6 games he played it was Mason's top 2 games and his 5th best game by receptions. What's changed from last year: Mason is older (34) McNair is gone Heap and Clayton are healthy For me I'm thinking he'll have a 60-65 rec year, 700 yards and 3-4 TDs. I wouldn't be expecting another 100 rec type season from old man Mason.

    A. Bradshaw vs D. Ward

The early word form Giants camp what that Bradshaw and Jacobs were splitting the first team reps. I think he's going to be used like in their playoff run as a guy that could get 15+ touches in a game. At this point Ward is a speical teamer that is the 3rd guy. The only thing that could change that is a large suspension for Bradshaw. Many forget that he spend a month in prision in the offseason. I don't know why, but I'm sure the Commish is sorting through it looking if he should be suspended.

Had my big $ fantasy league

Good to get your feedback and it's really appreciated. There was a bit of a void at RB and I went RB, WR, WR, so RBs were needed. I agree that I reached for both Forte and Smith, but the board wasn't looking good if I let it go another round without grabbing them. As for GB D my league actually is pretty point heavy in D. I forgot to mention that. When I drafted GB here were the teams that were already gone: San Diego Minnesota New England Dallas Chicago New York Seattle I was sort of stuck because of the remaining D's I really only liked GB and Philly. There was a Philly fan with 2 picks before I drafted again and I was pretty confident that they would be gone.

    Matt Forte vs. Kevin Smith

I rate Forte over Smith by about a round. The funny part is when looking at both of their abilities they are very close in running style and college production. Why I have Forte over Smith is due to opportunities. Smith is on a team that has a decent #2, great WRs, and a decent QB. Detriot can actually suprize a few teams. With Chicago all they have is Forte. The oline is horrible, so they will be forced to run (run blocking is easier than pass blocking) and with Orton being named the starter they will be full ball control.

What picks were reaches? I'm not looking to defend the draft, but more to learn.

Had my big $ fantasy league

Funny enough, here's how the 4th round went: 1. Earnest Graham 2. Torry Holt 3. Thomas Jones 4. Wes Welker 5. Edgerrin James 6. Brandon Marshall 7. Roy Williams Eagle 8. Santonio Holmes 9. Plaxico Burress 10. Calvin Johnson 11. LenDale White 12. Julius Jones Here are the next 5 WRs that went after my pick: Lavernous Coles (round 5, 1st pick) Anquan Boldin (round 5, 3rd pick) - Thos one bugs me. It's tough to guess someone will fall, but if I thought he'd be there I wouldn't have went RB, WR, WR. I still like Colston and TJ over him, but he's got great value in the 5th round. Dwayne Bowe (round 5, 6th pick) Greg Jennings (round 5, 8th pick) Roddy White (round 6, 1st pick) Here are the next 5 RBs that went: Julius Jones (round 4, 12th pick) Matt Forte (round 5, 2nd pick) - My pick Felix Jones (round 5, 9th pick) Jonathan Stewart (5th round, 11th pick) Selvin Young (6th round, 3rd pick) To counter, by going WR, WR in rounds 2 and 3 I probably started a bit of a WR run where there weren't many of that tier available in the 4th.

    Please Rate my Team

RD1: Marion Barber - Good pick. Probably the safest pick who could go from #4 to #8. RD2: Larry Johnson - I'm actually big on LJ. He will get plenty of carries and his health is good. RD3: Chad Johnson - Don't know which other WRs were out there. Good spot in the 6th to get him, but he's fairly hot and cold. RD4: Santonio Holmes - Great pick. Many are calling for a break through year. RD5: Ronnie Brown - Don't like the pick. Due to injury he'll probably have the same stats if Ricky (maybe less) and Ricky is available later. Would be good to hand cuff this pick, otherwise you might be giving up a 5th round pick for a bench guy. RD6: Roddy White - Nice 6th rounder. With him and Holmes there is a lot of upside at WR for your team. RD7: Jonathan Stewart - Sort of like Ronnie Brown, where due to injury the other guy might have a better statistical season and the other guy could have been grabbed later. RD8: Matt Hasselbeck - Great value pick. I'm a little worried about the WRs in Seattle, but Matt is a gamer and the division is weak. RD9: Marc Bulger - I don't like Bulger at all, but that's a good value spot. I'm wonder if a Garrard/Favre/Cutler was available instead of him. RD10: DJ Hackett - Might taper off when Smith comes back, but a good guy for now. RD11: Tony Scheffler - Scheffler is a good, underrated TE. Good value spot and I'd compare him to an Owen Daniels and possibly LJ Smith. Good for 50 catches and is an adaquate starter. My strategy has me going TE late too and after the first waive of guys there really isn't too much difference. I don't think he'll be Shannon Sharpe, but he'll do well. RD12: Maurice Morris - IMO Julius hasn't won the starting job and Morris might be a steal. Duckett will get all goaline, but Morris will help fill during a bye week. RD13: Issac Bruce - Some have him as a #1, I think he's a #3 type mentor guy. Should be good for 2-5 catches a game. RD14: Pierre Thomas - This all depends on the health of Bush and Duece. RD15: New England - Good D playing in a horrible division that will be up a majority of the time. Good pick. RD16: Chris Brown - He could work his way into starting some games this year. RD17: Drew Bennett - I don't know why, but when I read Drew Bennett I get excited, then I feel let down. I'm also down on the Rams. They just aren't that talented and have a horrible oline. RD18: Shayne Graham - Not bad. Not great, but not bad. Hit me back and look at my draft in my sig.

Who are the #1 and #2 WR's on these teams?

Jacksonville - Porter (when healthy), Williams if not, then Northcutt. Miami - T. Ginn Jr. then Hagan. I've got a buddy in Miami who says Hagan should be the #1, but they are still going to give Ginn Jr opportunities to justify his draft pick. San Fran - I don't really know. I'd guess Johnson then Bruce. Bruce might be pushed to the #3 spot and have more of a mentor role. All the same, I wouldn't draft any of these guys. Minn - Berrian then Rice. That one is easy. Chicago - This is real ugly. It will go Booker then Hester. If you league has return yard points then take Hester over Booker. They are trying to make Hester the #1, but the rumor is that he just isn't smart enough to pick it up. Tenn - R. Williams then probably Gage. That's actually really ugly and much like SF don't draft any of them.

    5th Pick Blues....

I like Barber in that spot. Really, Brady is amazing, but with the Pats they could easily run the ball a bit more this season making him a middle tier QB. In the superbowl it was apparent they didn't have the running game to keep the pass rush honest and lost because of it. I think Billy B is smart enough to make the changes and have a different plan this year. To talk about Barber, he's your perfect #1. Gets all the goaline carries, doesn't fumble, and is a good receiver out of the backfield. As much as people like Felix Jones they have to know Barber will get more than he ever has.
