Hyde projections

Recommended Posts

After seeing what Hyde is capable of in week 1 in a PPR but only in a limited basis due to game plan, what is the assessment you all have on this guy for this week and moving forward?

This week I have him slated for my flex, but am considering Crabtree instead. If Hyde was in Miami or Arizona, I would be all in. But SF? And is Seattle that good at this time?

I would be starting Crabtree.

Tough schedule will limit his upside some weeks, but I liked the usage so some big games are likely ahead for him. Seems like you have a deep roster, so playing based on match up may be your best bet.

I own a lot of Hyde and this is a tricky week. The game in Seattle last year was actually one of his best--103 yards, 2 TDs. Seattle won big that game, which they're expected to do again as absurd 14-point favorites. Of course, just look at the vise they put on Montgomery (19 carries/54 yards) to get a guess at how ugly things could get when the opposing QB is Brian Hoyer instead of Aaron Rodgers and the setting is CenturyLink Field.

I will still probably start him because I think his massive snap rate and increased role in the passing game give him a decent 60-70 yard floor even if the 49ers struggle to get something goIng. But I wouldn't criticize anyone who has him ride pine for someone with a less imposing matchup.

I own Hyde and like him cautiously this year a little worried about production b/c SF will down in most games. This week i'd start Crabtree based on matchups. But that's me.

ETA: literally 2 seconds after i posted this clicked on an article on nfl.com saying Hyde's a decent play this week b/c of pass catching. maybe, who knows.

I'm seriously considering playing Cohen over him this week. It's at Seattle, and they need a win. San Francisco only scored 3 points against Carolina, and I would say Seattle is a better defense. San Francisco's run blocking didn't look to great. He will probably catch a few passes, but I wouldn't expect a td from him.

I'll be targeting him after this week. I tried for him before Week 1, but all the positive rotoworld spin had his owner shooting for the moon.

I expect he struggles and his value should be down.

If he struggles you might see more Hightower sooner then later.

Great input. I really like Hyde and I think SF is committed to him. I juat cant get a feel for the Seattle def.

I don't believe Hightower is the primary back up. In any case, I wouldn't be worried about a benching. Hyde is clearly the best back there. If he can't produce, no one else will. I think the coaching staff is aware of that.

Hightower was released by the 9ers earlier this month.

Then he won't be the next one up then.

Really didn't even know he was let go.

I need to start ranking Niners on my draft board next season.

Sh!t. If he would've stayed quiet 1 more week I guarantee his owner would've panicked. It's not going to happen for me now.
