Ask Kerwynn Williams

Recommended Posts

Not much excitement about ole' Kerwynn, but I believe a closer look is warranted. After all, it is not easy to find a "starting" RB, who could very well be so for 2-3 months or longer.

His body of work isn't huge, but 5.5 yards/carry on around 100 NFL carries in a tough division ain't chicken-scratch. In fact, it's excellent. No, he hasn't yet proven to be a good receiver (although he did catch 45 passes for 700/5 his senior year at Utah State), but he has shown that he can tote the rock when opportunity presents itself.....and it has now been presented.

Seems to me that it is his job to lose. Are we really concerned about Andre "Made of Glass" Ellington, or old man Johnson?

Still young, fresh legs, supposedly decent offense, and semi-proven track record. I only owned DJ in one league, but I've grabbed Kerwynn everywhere I can. I think he could surprise.....and the lack of buzz has kept the price down

He diffently should get most of the att, but I do see Ellington in the passing game and good ol Johnson stealing just enough att to make a person who starts Williams a little pissed off.

Sorry about saying pissed off.

Let's see how he does this weekend and then I will talk some. But yes, roster him if you can and cut him if the two guys mentioned are eating too much of the pie.

CJ2K is a non issue. Dude will get 3 carries a game.

Agreed. Everyone is acting like this is going to be a committee but I don't think so. Everyone was saying the same in 2015 with Chris and David Johnson but he rode CJ until he broke his tibia, even though in limited carries DJ looked like the more dynamic back. Arians likes to have a #1 RB and will ride Williams until he gives him a reason not to. He even tried to make Ellington the feature back....

To be fair, people are acting that way because the team said it's going to be that way.

Tis true. I already lost all respect for Arians as a coach. He is junk, like so many coaches in this league. I still wouldn't be surprised if he pushed the most likely far inferior Chris Johnson to start

CJ2K was on the street a week ago. If anyone thinks this guy is gonna do anything youre insane.

they said the same thing about Tim Hightower and Shaun Draughn 2 years ago, yet those 2 guys came in right off the street and helped many teams win their fantasy championship.

you can come in and be immediately successful as a RB.

not saying CJ2K will (though I did pick him up as a flyer), but your logic is wrong.

My logic is not wrong. I'm not talking about Hightower, Draughn or anyone else. I'm talking about Chris Johnson. He ain't gonna do this year. You should start him since you believe in him so much.

if your point is that he can't do anything because he was on the street a week before, then the two names I provided you disprove your statement because those are two guys that literally did that exact same thing. Thus, Hightower and Draughn and anyone else that has done that are absolutely relevant, so you can't say you're not talking about them because your statement implies that no player is capable of coming in off the street and being productive. we know that's obviously not true.

now if you want to say CJ2K won't because you think he's washed up trash and couldn't even do anything with a full starter's workload if he even got it, then say that. you don't have a need to bring up the fact that he was on the street at all then, since all that does is take away from what your feelings of him really are; and all that does is open your statement up to be criticized.

and I don't have any idea what CJ will do, we'll wait and see. You may be right that his career is over, but that doesn't mean he's not worth a speculative add. If he ultimately wins the job and can become even a weekly flex starter, then it's a huge win. If he does nothing, then I'm no worse off and I can just drop him for some other speculative add.

You go to a lot of Cardinals practices or are you one of the guys that picked up Williams and thought he was worth taking a closer look at? Williams will be in a 3 way split and his pick up will be regretted by many.

Look at the under performance of the Caedinals last year. With the best running back, a top 5 defense talent wise, and a still good Larry Fitzgerald. I blame the coach when a team with that much team disappoints. Plus, Arians lambasted Johnson for being a rookie and pushes Chris as the better option, when he obviously wasn't during David's rookie year. Meanwhile, he was fine putting the most overrated defensive player in the league right into the mix, Mathieu

But he does wear stylish hats. Gotta give him that.
