FantasyKing 4 Posted October 16, 2008 Do you think he will be able to pickup the offense quickly and be productive right away? Or do you think his presence will help TO and Witten more? It will probably be the Marion Barber show so it may not matter. What do you all expect from him in his first week? Pimptaddy - your opinion is not wanted, please do not reply. TexansWinSB 0 Posted October 16, 2008 i am. but thats only because my other option at WR2 is Ocho Cinco. \
dalie 2 Posted October 16, 2008 With DeSean Jackson on bye this week I've been wondering too. The only options I have this week at WR2 (AJ is WR1) is Colston and Roy....so kinda the lesser of 2 evils, but I guess I might lean to Roy w/o knowing Colstons status at this point. However, Bruce was just dropped so I might try for him.
coyote-kid 0 Posted October 16, 2008 I own him and am leaning toward sitting him right now for avg - good wrs. as follows: Ward @ Cinn Cotchery @ Oakland Bowe Vs Tenn I am sitting Chad Johnson and Roy Williams. What do you think? Going to take a couple weeks to make this transition and learn some of the play book. I know about the system being similar to Martz but still think it will take some time. Long term I see great upside compared to the sand-lot-team he left behind.. This week I play the #1 guy in my league and can't afford miscues.
FantasyKing 4 Posted October 16, 2008 I am giving him a shot over Drive and Holmes. Thats pretty much who its between for me too, Driver and Roy.

nobody 2,031 Posted October 16, 2008 I'm starting him becasue I have no other option, but I wouldn't be sitting any other viable option for him if I only had one.
bytheway 1 Posted October 16, 2008 I currently have Roy on my bench, and am instead starting Bowe. I prefer the clear-cut #1 on a lousy team vs. the #3 option on a good team. Not to mention him being on a new team with the back-up QB maybe starting.
Gepetto 977 Posted October 16, 2008 I'm starting him. I just traded away Cotchery for him. Not real confident about it this week b/c he's brand new to the team, but at least their playing the Rams. I'm starting Jennings, I.Bruce, & Berrian, so I could bench Roy at my flex spot for Fargas, McFadden, or C.Perry, but unless I change my mind before Sunday, Roy's a starter. kiki 0 Posted October 17, 2008 I am giving him a shot over Driver and Holmes. This is a mistake... Holmes off of a bye week and FWP out, against an easy D... You need to put Holmes in ur lineup NOW. Roy may get some love this week, but it will take atlease 2 weeks before he is a better starting option than Holmes. Even Driver is a better start this week tha ROY imo. But you go with your bad self and roll with a guy that doesn't know the offense just yet

the_risen_demon 0 Posted October 17, 2008 Sitting him behind Marshall (at NE), Santana Moss (vs CLE) and Kevin Walter (vs DET).
kgeorge78 0 Posted October 17, 2008 I have Andre Johnson, Randy Moss (Bought low), Roy Williams, and Dwane Bowe. We start 3wrs. Andre Johnson is a machine and will probably end up being Top 2 (Fitz) by the end of the year in PPR so is a Must Start Moss is another start - PLaying a weak team Monday night I don't have the heart to sit him. Bowe has been consistant all year 14 points in ppr. Do I sit him vs. Tenn and Start Roy Williams vs. St Louis?????? I'd hit to sit Bowe as I love watching him play. So Bowe or Roy??? It MUST take some time before he shines. JMHO......
BiPolarBear 476 Posted October 18, 2008 Local sports radio (1310 The Ticket) says the coaches ask Roy to look at the playbook and tell them how much of it he was comfortable with right now. He showed them the plays and it was about 30% of the book. The Cowboys will be able to get him envolved. The station was guessing at three or four balls. cowboyz 2 Posted October 18, 2008 Receivers coach Ray Sherman projected Williams to get at least 15 to 20 snaps against the Rams, even with his limited knowledge of the offense. "Gave him a game sheet and told him to mark off (plays) he's comfortable with," Sherman said. Sherman estimated Williams has about 25 to 30 percent of the offense down pat, but that his familiarity with the Cowboys' numbering system - similar to that of Mike Martz' when he was with the Lions - should make the transition much easier for him i'm looking for 2 x s from roy

Not to mention him being on a new team with the back-up QB maybe starting. This is correct. Romo had a hard time when healthy hitting TO, with whom he's practiced for years. Now you've got either 4-finger Romo or a dink and dunk backup throwing to a guy they've never worked with. I'm sure they'll work in a few screens to him, but that should be it. jerryskids 5,165 Posted October 18, 2008 Also I predict the 'boys do everything they can to get TO the ball, to show him he's still the top dawg.
Phurfur 70 Posted October 18, 2008 Also I predict the 'boys do everything they can to get TO the ball, to show him he's still the top dawg. Correct, Dallas will have to kiss TO's butt as long as he is on the team.
sprewell43 0 Posted October 18, 2008 I'll throw a fifthsky out there that says Roy gets >4 catches, and one on the first series. If anyone desperately needs a WR for the weekend, look at Tennessee's 3rd receiver (Gage and McCareins most likely out).
