wiffleball 4,631 Posted September 23, 2018 What are those things, I would call them pilings, but I guess that's just associate with docks. These days, they sit mostly in front of buildings. They're usually around 3 ft tall and I don't know maybe 6 to 12 in diameter. The fancy ones are retractable. Others have lighting built into them. Others are basically nothing more than a concrete Pole affixed to the ground. You saw them crop up a lot after 9/11. Basically meant to deter trucks from driving into buildings and whatnot.
