ESPN layoffs

Recommended Posts

"LAY-offs?!?!"

Seriously though, what are they thinking? Firing Ed Werder after 17 years - mere hours before the NFL Draft? Canning most (If not all?) of their NHL crew - during the playoffs?

And yet, Stephen A. and Darren Rovell remain.

So far, the only good I can find in any of this is that Trent Dilfer has been fired. Again. Hopefully, this time it sticks.

I was hoping all this would mean they are going to get back to covering sports again instead of being SJWs.

Looks like I was wrong.

Indeed. It's hard to figure out where they're heading with this - but it sure doesn't seem like thorough sports coverage is included in the new plan.

Should kept Werder and canned Stephen A. Dude gets on my nerves. Yeah I guess some like him but I'm not one. To over the top for me. He does seem a tad egotistical maybe. Sometimes he says some good things but don't like his delivery. So I see 17 years dedication gets ya nuttin. Would rather have root canal with no anesthesia than listen to Stephen A. Just my opinion.

I don't like Stephen A Smith at all. However, I get it that he is one of their primary personalities. He brings up the viewership which drives ad revenue. They'd be stupid to fire him. I don't know anything about hockey coverage or care. Werder, I could take him or leave him so I don't care.

Also, I find myself tuning into Fox Sports Radio more often. Espn may have jumped the shark. I just don't like them. Funny enough, Dilfer was one I actually liked. One more reason to not tune into Espn.

Dan Lebatard and Bohami Jones are the 2 worst guys I've ever heard. How they have jobs I'll never know.

Skip Bayless would argue that one

Ironic, on a political site that covered the story people were fed up with espn being politically liberal. Here on a sports site not 1 word.

mostly because this is an ff site, meaning we care less about politics and care more about ff impact. the only people I see posting about espn's "liberal lean" being the cause for the layoffs are orange baboon die hards who need to champion any/every trump "victory" they possibly can.

I was talking about a football source that is starting to struggle and making changes, why did you feel the need to go political? Yes, I did find it interesting what the public as a whole feels about my interests rather its sports, guns, or anything else.

When polecatt uses the term "SJWs" it means 'Social Justice Warriors' - and he's right. They're full blown liberal, and they overtly paint it into their MO. It's annoying.

Lots of good comments here. ESPN has allowed its leftist politics to corrupt its real purpose, and people are voting with their remotes.

Derp. Conversely, the only posters unwilling to acknowledge the truth of ESPN's overt agenda are snowflakes?
