How much is too much for world series tickets?

Recommended Posts

My wife gave me the go ahead, but i just cannot do it. Currently the cheap seats are at 630 dollars and I have a college buddy in town that is visiting that I could also convince to probably buy a ticket.

Should I just man up and spend the money?

If you can afford it just do it. 10 years from now youre not good ng to care about the $600 you spent in 2017.

Yes. Life experiences are worth it.

Look at it this way, if you truly made a poor decision and say, bought a very expensive vehicle, you would be paying that amount or more EVERY MONTH.

So why not treat yourself to a once in a lifetime experience? Hell Id say thats cheap. Go for a decent seat

I spent more than that last year for Cubs/Indians, never thought twice about the money.

I got to see the Cubs actually play in a World Series

I am a Pirates fan, not really an Astros fan. I would be going to the game just to go to a World Series. If it was Pirates/Astros then I would pay the 630 easily.

I've been to three World Series, never regretted any of it.

I paid face value for the Yanks/Diamondbacks at Yankee Stadium in '01, but I would have paid 3x that if needed.

I also paid $650 for the Bulls/Jazz game 5 in '98 and I was literally in the very last row.

I had a great time at the WS game because the Yanks won in dramatic fashion. But, they eventually lost the series.

The Bulls game was also a lot of fun right up until they lost. They did go on to win the series, but I wasn't in Utah to see it.

I think ed pointed out that the end result is what makes or breaks your experience.

Knowing all that, I would only do it again if my son(s) were really into going.

I won't even watch on TV, so $1 is too much. If I was a fan though and it was my team I would have no problem spending $630. At my age though, that or any professional championship game is no longer something I would want to experience with a buddy. My daughter for sure as an experience but not with some dude.

As much as I love my Rangers and as much as I'd love to finally win a WS - no way I'd spend more than $200 for a ticket.. and even at that, I'd have to think about it.

It all depends on where a WS game falls on your list of Sports Hierarchy.... If it's #1, no question - do it. If it's in the 5-10 range, meh - maybe not..

This, unless it was a game 7,I'd pay more for a deciding game.

Probably one of the least gay things a guy can do.

For me the major factor would be if my team was in it. Several years ago the 9ers played the SB in New Orleans. Would have loved to go but I couldn't justify the cost.

Now, with the ws being in town for you..... Maybe wait until the first pitch and scalp some Tix. Price drops quickly once games start

You are preaching to the choir.

You can bring booze and drink whenever an old timey character says something black but in old school lingo prompting its funny because hes white! type laughs.

Stuff like, Will dost thou get jiggy with it?! And other phrases that were cool 15 years ago.

Same. Wanted to go last year to the SB cause the Pats were in it but I could NOT justify dropping $10K just on tickets. Not including a place to stay, gas there, parking, food, alcohol, etc.

Is Bill E. an Astros fan? He'd prolly sell his tickets for $0.00

It’s the double toofer deal. A ticket and a toof, can’t beat it.

Depends on how big a thing it is to you.

For me, I wouldnt give a crap to go for free.

But I am a big believer in paying for experiences that are important to you.

Is this the kind of thing you will regret not going to in five or ten years?

If so, do it. Youll never kick yourself for not having $600 in a few years.

Couldn't see spending more than $300. The only WS game I have been to was 1993, Curt Schilling has a complete game shutout. I am thinking I spent $75ish. Meh, I don't consider one of those incredible experiences.

I always considered the Super Bowl much more of an experience and had the opportunity to go to two of them.

Of course I'm an old fock and only paid $250 for XXII and $300 for XVI I'd have a real problem paying what they're asking these days.

I watched from living room TV in AZ, had just moved there in September. One of the greatest Series of all time.

Watching the Yankees win after being down 2-0, in Yankee Stadium, just weeks after 9/11 must have been a soul touching communal experience, glad you got to be there.

It's hard to describe the vibe in that place when W threw threw a strike right down the middle for the first pitch.

The crowd was raucous and a little angry, yet very patriotic, and together.

I feel your pain. I just can't make myself pay $700 for a ticket to a baseball game. Of course I just booked trips to Vegas for November and December and I was in Cabo last week and didn't think twice about booking those trips. This single life may kill me but at least I will have a smile on my face when I die.

We paid $4500 for third row tickets for World Series last year game 6.

The atmosphere of a WS is fantastic......caught a BP homer from Schwarber....met Jim Thome....Cubs won. I’ll most likely be buried with that baseball in my hands. Worth every red cent.

Saw something my father....and his parents never got to see.
