He saw an advanced screening and was really hoping it would be a good film, because he loved the books and didn't want to be disappointed. Said it was one of the best movies he's seen. Cause I'm in need of a good book I didn't read them "in order" so to speak, and strangely enough, I've never read American Assassin that I remember. Supposedly it's the first in the series. Guess I'd recommend that one first. In fact the prequel was one of the best books in the Jack Ryan series. Going to check this out. Thanks. ETA Without Remorse was the prequel I had in mind. Cant condense all the book into a movie so take it with a grain of salt if your a die-hard book purist. Too many small interactions to try to put on big screen. Good action scenes!
