Adam Schefter: 49ers said RB Jerick McKinnon will undergo an MRI on his right knee after injuring it today during practice.

I heard about this but it was also said that he never went to the locker room after initial look and see on his knee. Basically, they pulled him from practice field but then he stayed out there to watch on for the rest of it. Plus it was stated that he was initially holding the back of his knee area.

back to Joe Williams disaster again?

Disaster?

Of course, it's waaaay too early to early to speculate on McKinnon, and Breida doesn't seem that hurt......but if/when Joe Williams gets his shot, the sky is the limit.

This backfield is one I am avoiding.

Thing is, any player can get hurt on the field. And more probably will.

Funny....that's the same reaction I used to get about David Johnson and Alex Collins coming outta college.

Of course, Joe has to hold onto the ball to even have a chance to get his day in the sun. Talent is there though imo.

The Niners just signed Alfred Morris to help out. Doubt he makes the 53 if everyone is healthy. (That's approximately what I read on Rotoworld.)

I'd be careful about that assumption.

I have no way of knowing if Alfred has anything left, but he if he does, it may be a good fit.

Previous success with Shanny system, veteran presence in the room, and sufficiently different than the other options they have.

I wouldn't downgrade McKinnon personally from where I have him now but I was already much lower on him than others (a 5th-6th round PPR value for me in the Royce Freeman, Dion Lewis, Mark Ingram area).

I had redraft interest in Breida at his current price but I would downgrade him until further clarity about Morris.
