** Round 3 & 4 Commentary - July PPR Mock **

Recommended Posts

Very Happy with Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, and Doug Martin in my first three rounds. Would much rather have been pick 10 and landed ADP and Jordy, but am happy with my result none the less. I have Martin targeted for 1500+ plus combined, with 30+ receptions, and 8-10 Td's. I feel balanced at this point and can land a solid #2 WR on the next corner.

Taking both Charles and Marshall made my sphincter tighten, but the upside (for both) was too much to pass up. His QB situation scares me, but he's put up solid numbers with the likes of Matt Moore so there is hope (personally, I think Fitz signs). Taking out his injury-shortened 2013 season, he hasn't had less than 80 receptions or 1,000 yards since his rookie year. There is absolutely a high risk with Marshall, but I think the reward will be even higher.

I agree I can't see Fitz sitting out and that team is much better with him. The Jets and him will come to an agreement. So far as we start the 3rd round no big shocks yet, not a huge fan of picking 12th against you guys. Now it starts to get interesting in the next few rounds.

Guys it's like 9:30 on the East Coast, which means it's 8, 7 or 6 in the rest of the USA. Let peeps wake up :)

We're all adults aren't we? It's Tuesday, should be up starting the day. First thing I did when I woke up this morning was check my phone to see if it was my pick or not.

I love the idea of an Eddie Lacy bounce back contract year. I think the 3rd round is fine value for him. I am happy to have two good running backs on two good offenses. Plus Lacy doesn't have a bad sched.

Edelman for a few reasons, he is likely alternating between goto and safety valve, he seems to catch consistently, his ADP is was in the 2.09 range making him decent value in a PPR format. Plus we know that the Patriots will cheat their butts off and this guy can likely benefit from it.

I had Lacy, Ingram, Martin, and @#%$ all picked out after I decided to go with Julio in the 1st. I hoped 2 of these 4 would be available on the 2/3 turn. (All 4 made it) The option of going RB in the first round then waiting on two wideouts didn't look as promising at that point, but sure looks fine now. There are a few dandy's just sitting there.

^ Yeah. As much I kind of like loading up on WRS when I pulled Gurley followed by Keenan and Hilton I don't feel either loses any upside that my WR pick there would have had in the 1st round.

Edelman was a very tough call for me. I wanted to pick him, but ultimately Brady suspension has me dropping him a little.

I like that Lacy can catch 40 passes, get goal line work and main carry work. I didn't see value like that coming back in the 4th like I see with the receivers.

Hilton may turn out to be that guy we all wish we picked. His past inconsistency, even with Luck healthy has me pause when it's this early. Still has about as much upside as anyone left on the board.

Once again I was torn between a WR and RB and luckily the person before me took one of them to make my decision easier. I was originally going to take Thomas but seeing McCoy there seemed like a good value. I was hoping Iceman would pick one of them.

I know a lot of people are down on Thomas this year but he still managed to have a good year last year with Manning at his worst and a mediocre Osweiler. He is still the go to guy in Denver and I think whoever is playing QB will rely on him a lot.

With AJ Green, Jeffery and Thomas I have 3 potential top 10 WRs in the first three rounds of the draft. This should be the majority of my points each week.

This is a really impressive round in terms of available talent, so many opportunities it makes the decision a little challenging.

No flex position correct? I'm usually drafting with those puppies in mind.

- You should draft assuming a starting lineup consisting of 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WRs, 1TE, 1K, & 1 D/ST.

Interesting start JScott. Taking Gronk and Cam in the first three rounds. You have the bizarre-o draft to my draft strategy. I'm interested to see how your team ends up.

I had a feeling that would be his direction if Cam fell to him. Why not go with the difference maker in two positions, hope they stay healthy and live up to 85% of their potential.

Does anyone know how to look back at our draft results from last year. I'm curious who I took last year.

I had the highest score of the season! Which was the only decent thing about it. Mccoy was a mistake. I will make up for it this year with djohns.

Was holding on the hope that Lacy would somehow fall to me at 3.12 but that didnt happen, had to go with Forte I think he will fit nicely into that offense and be a good option for what ever QB starts for the Jets. With Maclin I see no reason why he won't have similar numbers to what he had last season.

And with your Maclin pick, you ruined my plan for world domination...

The pick of Decker over the rest of the field was a difficult one, but his combination of durability and proven red-zone chops outweighs the small chance Fitz doesn't come back and gives him a pretty safe floor. If I'm going to go RB-RB (and I'll only do so this year if I'm convinced both backs are top-end RB1s with job security) in the first two rounds, I want two top-end WR2s at the very least. Both of mine (Cobb and Decker) are 80-catch guys who can score 10 times. Both also give me a pretty high floor.

I followed this every week last year.

Glad I could send it to you guys!!

3.10 K Benjamin & 4.03 Sammy Watkins

I sure like the up-side with these two guys. Make take a little time for both to reach their potential coming back from injury, but by week 6 I'll have 3 top tier WRs scoring points by the basketload!! I really believe Watkins will be fine by week 2. Benjamin can score TDs and hopefully can regain his 2014 form.

I was definitely expecting Jmatth to fall to me. With all of the negative vibes on him lately it's surprising he went this early. According to my rankings he had an advantage over who is left. Would like to hear why he is going so early in this draft. Maybe I can't count on him dropping to the 4th in my real drafts.

Agree. Though I like Benjamin's situation a little better right now. But both certainly have the potential to outperform their draft spot.

He was my choice at 4.03 if either Watkins or Benjamin were taken. So I like him at the early 4th also.

Well it was finally time to take a RB and it was not an easy choice. All the RBs right now are all boom/bust types of guys and I'm fine with that. I decided to go with Dion Lewis in the hopes that he returns healthy and repeats what he did last year. I'll be just fine with this as long as I can get a few other RBs I like to fall to me.

I'm very unsure where to go with the next pick. If we had a flex spot I'd be building depth somewhere but we get to the point where I like a lot of these rbs and wrs the same.

Maybe I go for a difference maker elsewhere but so many late qbs I like. We'll see.

When we kicked the league to MFL did best ball scoring kick in basically?
