The curious case of Robby Anderson

Recommended Posts

this guy has been ballin and with it helping carry my team on the 1st overall spot in my league. Now with semifinals in store, can you trust the guy with Petty at the helm?

Prior to prev week he was scoring for 5 weeks strait. Now, and against NO D and most likely drawing Latimore.. i am leaning towards benching the guy for Mike Davis or Jonathan stewart.

I think Petty when he last played targeted Anderson 8 times a game. But who knows now? I am deciding between him and Gordon.

I would find it hard to trust Anderson without his QB.

Anderson killed my season last week. Rolling DD over him this week (5th place game)...easy call with no mccown and facing lattimore. Wish I had done it last week, would still be alive. /pityparty

Anderson takes a hit, just like

Alshon without Wentz

All Denver WRs without a franchise QB

any receiving option when loosing the starting QB.... esp in the playoffs.

If there ever was a year to go with your own gut, its this year.

Injuries everywhere, its really come down to starting who you feel good about/best about.

In all actuality this is a true FF year... all on you, the owner,,, not some rogue FF advice you feel good about because they are supposed to be the experts.

Trust your own instincts this year, its the perfect season to do just that,, I bet those that do, will have a different approach going forward.

The playing field is wide open,, few studs to depend on, very tough match ups in the playoffs even if you have high end options that are healthy.

Start your best matchups... its the easy play.

Struggling with this one as well. Marvin Jones, DeDe, or Anderson. Have Jones penciled atm but, I don't think there is anyway I can start Anderson this week.

He is one of the main reason I have the #1 seed though, weird situation.

If you have Marvin or DeDe, I'd say you're in good shape. For other folks that have ridden Anderson successfully but are more in a pinch, it may help to see that Petty and Anderson worked well together last year as seafoam alluded to above.

Petty took over for Fitzpatrick in wk13 of 2016 and Anderson was the WR11 that week with a 12-4-61-1 line. While I know that Fitz and Petty had close to the same number of throws that week, I couldn't tell you which one was more responsible for Anderson's production.

Petty did all the QBing for wks 14-15 and Anderson was the WR19 with a 11-6-99 line in wk14 and the WR6 with a 6-4-80-1 line in wk15. Fitz was back for wk16 but Anderson must have been injured as he doesn't appear on the wk16 WR pages at all. Fitz also QBed in wk12 and Enunwa and Marshall were the top Jets WRs.

So Petty appeared to have an influence in elevating Robby Anderson's game last year and Anderson owners can take some heart from that.

I wouldn't bench Robby Anderson because of Petty. Only bench him if you have better options. DeDe Westbrook should have a very good week.

Anderson or diggs in ppr?

Diggs.

Just not crazy about the Jets matchup with the Saints on the road with a back up QB.

(am spending this afternoon getting caught up with the box scores and noticed this...)

With a score of 9.00 in PPR, i guess I'd call my advocacy of Robby Anderson a whiff. However, note that Anderson got 12 targets from Petty. The next two heaviest Jets were Kearse and Forte with 5 targets each.

Targets were promising but not much production wasn't. Not a good matchup this week either.

starting him this week... over goodwin. with targets alone his potential to break off a catch is huge. no better options on waivers.

After losing Antonio Brown, I dropped AB84, and Robby Anderson today. Picked up M.Wallace, and K Cole. Hell of way to go into a championship game.

Really, why? Seems about the same to me - pretty awful - but maybe i'm missing something...

Anderson avg 18 ff ppr points at home, and the Chargers give up an avg of 32 points too wr on the road.

Anderson avg 8 ff ppr points on the road, while the Broncos def gives up an avg of 28 points too WRs at home.

Based on the scoring in the league I'm in of course.

So I do think it's a better matchup, so I like his matchup better this week.

Thanks for the reply.

Merry Christmas

Luke 2:8-14.

My flex choice is Alex Collins v Bobby Anderson, pretty solid on Collins, but Im a dog in the championship and the volume Robby will get gives him a lot of upside but a lower floor
