altered_genes 0 Posted August 17, 2006 Hey guys... Really quickly...any opinions on whether or not Roy Williams will flourish in a Mike Martz system with Jon Kitna as the QB? If I keep him...he'll cost me a 4th Round pick (and I don't know where I'm drafting at either) in a 12-team league that requires: 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 2 WR/TE, and 1 WR/RB (plus def/kicker of course). Would that be too expensive? Anyone know where Roy Williams is being selected at in mock drafts? Thanks, AG
Yardage 1 Posted August 17, 2006 Fourth round is where he's going in most mocks I've seen. I think he's a good value there. I'd keep him.
leftyguitar 0 Posted August 17, 2006 I think that's a LITTLE bit early. figure he'd be your 4th selection... thats 2 RBs, QB/WR, then roy. There should be some better options for you in round 4.

Thanks for the responses guys! I forgot to mention that we're drafting 16 rounds...and I've got 2 running back keepers already: LaMont Jordan [ 5th round ] Willie Parker [ 8th round ] I think that's great value for those two guys! I'm looking to get 2 QBs and 1 RB in the first 3 rounds...then use the next two for WRs. I would be much happier if Roy was at 5 or 6 leftyguitar, but I just can't help but feel like gambling on him to really break out with a new offensive coordinator and another year under his belt. I wonder if the Detroit O-line has improved any? Any new thoughts given this new info? Thanks, AG Fourth round is where he's going in most mocks I've seen. I think he's a good value there. I'd keep him. Thanks for the response and the info Yardage! That helps me out a lot.
Ray_T 587 Posted August 18, 2006 in a ten team league it's iffy. but in a 12 team league I'd say hes worth a 4th round pick. Hes the best receiver in detroit and will get as many throws as any #1 receiver out there. Keep him
FBH ** 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Why 2 QBs in the first 3 rounds? Unless you are starting 2 qbs that is a waste. I like Roy in that spot, you would have a great start to your team with FWP, LJordan, and Roy. Especially without spending a pick in the first 3 rounds. Good luck. PTAKBuCS 0 Posted August 18, 2006 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roy Williams will be a Top 10 WR this year. Write it down. He's a monster waiting to happen. 4th round will be solid if you take him there.
BeeefyTaco 0 Posted August 18, 2006 He was a monster waiting to happen last year as well ;P Had 1 breakout game? I'm still sold on Roy, but I'd say 5th roundish. You have 2 very nice keepers with Lamont and FWP at 5/8. Since you hvae the 4th open, I"d still go with Roy. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=222425
Mr_Ruger 0 Posted August 19, 2006 Tough call. CBS has his average draft position as 51 overall. Low/high is 36/61. I think these numbers show that the general concensus is correct that he is a late 4, early 5 pick in a 12-team league. Please help me!

It is a 12-team league...and we do require 2 QBs. It is a tough call...but I have a feeling he's going to break out this year..especially if he can stay healthy and if Martz and the O-line do a good job. I'll get back to you all with your own Help Threads after I'm finished testing tomorrow! Thanks again! -Steve

It really depends on your outlook for him. I think he will emerge this year and be a great wr. I look for over 1200 and 10, so I think that validates a fourth round pick.
