The New Dr. Who is a Woman

Recommended Posts

Not surprised. The last few episodes were all about the fluidity of gender, etc.

And, for whatever reason, just aboutGBLT every show on BBCA has a LGBLTUIOP bit to it.

Still, that's a long standing tradition shot to hell.

The producers of the show could really send a mixed message if they combine the first female Doctor with the first Doctor nude scene.

All I know is women who don't even watch the show are pissed at the people who are pissed cause they changed Dr Who to a women. Idiots claiming that people are upset cause women can't be doctors and such. Gimme a break. They know as well as i do if they pulled this stunt by changing an iconic female character into a man all hell would break loose

I've started watching the first seasons of the reboot.

Quite good. Keeps the spirit of the original whilst upgrading the production quality massively.

Just watched the final Christmas special with Capaldi. Very well done.

Very literally the end of an era.

I can't really think of another TV show where entire Generations are defined by who their favorite doctor character is.

I guess the closest thing we have here is which Darren was better?

Sadly, probably most people have no idea what the hell that means.

She's definitely not hot. Short blonde hair, mid aged.

In a way, I feel badly for her. Or frankly, for anybody who tries to replace a previous Doctor Who. There are seriously loyal camps for virtually every single one of them. Basically, imagine the way that fans break into their favorite actor who played James Bond.

Still, at its core, there has to be a wicked wit and a slight tongue and cheek going on. And women generally suck at that. Especially when you're trying to translate British humor.

Plus, I found out tonight that their most successful showrunner is leaving at the same time. Add in the loss of the very popular companion whatever her name is Bill the black chick. That would be tough for anybody to step into that scenario.

It means you are choosing your preferred D*ck.

and again. The majority of the people won't get that reference either.

I have tickets to onenof the theaters here in the area that is playing it on the big screen on Thursday night. The boy doesn't know yet and he's gonna be stoked.

This last comic con I paid the 100 bones to have the boy take a pic with Capaldi. He was so excited.. hugged it out with the Doctor. He has that pic up fron and center when you walk in his room. Seemed a decent guy the 15 seconds we met him.

It's a little embarrassing from a pro-feminist perspective. Remaking movies with male casts originally, making a beloved male character female..

Innovate, don't replace. Like Marilyn Monroe said, "Women who seek to be equal to men lack ambition."

quoting a woman who sucked her way into existence isn't very feministic

Meh. It's not even debatable that Tom Baker was the best and ONLY Dr. Who worth discussing. ;)

She probably did but it didn't make her immune to having some good thoughts.
