Pizza Pizza Pizza

Recommended Posts

My heterosexual life partner found some incredible premade dough from Safeway. (pre made as far as one still has to roll the dough. Not like Bobilini or whatever that's called)

Motz, pepper jack, white Tillimook, and pepperoni will be the toppings for the evening.

All cheese is grated by myself. I, for one, will never put any store bought pre shredded junk on mty pizza.

What was kinda cute during this process was my Boots kitteh.

See, Boots kitteh is 99.9 % black kitteh ant he was bugging me when I had flour on me hands...also, pizza timer just dinged. To be continued

We all probably have our favorite regional pizzas......so we we aren't going to have a lot of consistency on pizza.

I want to know how you all cook them. Sometimes that makes a big difference.

I have a Pizzazz pizza cooker...a regular oven...and a Wisco 421.

Hands down the best....one is.......

I use one of these on the grill. It's the best way I've found to get a good crisp bottom. Way better than a stone IMO.

I rarely make my own dough these days. Will get the pre-made from trader Joe's or Safeway. Usually can make two pizzas from one ball. One is typically margherita, then we mix it up with the other.

Use a pizza stone either in oven or on the grill

My sis' family are huge pizza freaks... This might make a great Xmas gift.

Is there a noticeable difference in a pizza cooked in this and the regular oven?

Is there a noticeable difference in a pizza cooked in this and the regular oven?

I gave one to my dad for xmas...he loves it.

With my regular oven, I always had a hard time getting the toppings and the crust done at the same time. It was this way with our new oven and our old oven.

I always had to cook for like 8 minutes on the rack, then put a baking stone under it for 6 more minutes cuz the bottom was getting done before the top. Just various issues with "toppings vs. bottom crust" and getting a good bottom crust with nicely cooked toppings.

I do not have that problem with the Wisco.

Sams and Costco often give out free samples of pizza... and they use the Wisco 421 to cook their pizza. I think someone there said "the secret to a good crust is to use parchment paper underneath" . I've never tried it, but I know she said it. (and was referring to using it with that particular oven).

Oh....and this is important...you can cook a 13" pizza in this model. It advertises "12" but a 13" fits nicely. The most popular local pizza around this area, come in 13"....so I made sure that I found one that could cook 13".

The oven comes with a recipe book. You can also cook lots of other stuff in it. Like wings, or anything less than 3" tall. Grilled cheese? I have never attempted it, but I'd imagine it would work well.
