In a deep 0.5 PPR league, trying to have a couple RB's at the bottom of my roster who could potentially end up contributing. Currently, I have Robert Turbin and C.J. Spiller (because of the Ware injury). Alfred Morris is available and has looked good in preseason. Is it worth it to drop Turbin or Spiller for Morris? If so, which one? (I know none of these guys are particularly exciting).

Draft is set for 8:00 PM EDT tonight! Planning to draft with 8-14 paid teams. Long version: This league is a continued experiment from last year of what I've dubbed "Formation Football." Almost every offensive formation in football contains at least five offensive linemen; what makes the formation unique is the positions of the remaining six players. Likewise, almost every defensive contains at least three defensive linemen, one linebacker, and three defensive backs; what makes the formation unique is the positions of the remaining four players. This league is modeled after the Pro Set offensive formation (1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE) the 4-3 defensive formation (1 DL, 2 LB, 1 DB). The players you have on your team are players you might expect to see together on the field at the same time in the given formations. Formation football is unique in that it offers a fresh but uncomplicated approach to fantasy. Many leagues that try to do something "new" in the fantasy realm end up being overly complicated, because so much has already been done that it's hard to do something new. Formation football solves this problem by simplifying instead of complicating -- the small rosters challenge owners to make smart choices, but also allow for less time to be spent managing one's team. Last year, my experiments were with a Heavy offensive formation (1 QB, 1 WR, 2 RB, 2 TE) and a Hail Mary offensive formation (1 QB, 4 WR, 1 WR/RB/TE), and the leagues were successful. This is the first time I've experimented with defensive formations. I'm looking forward to the added dynamic.

Hail Mary League Draft: Snake draft; Today, 8/21, at 4:00 PM EDT (tentative). League link: http://yhoo.it/2b6jlzn This is something of a concept league, based on the Hail Mary formation in real football. A "Hail Mary pass" is used by NFL teams in desperate situations as a low-rate-of-success attempt to score a touchdown at the end of the half or game. Typically, teams have 5 wide receivers on the field, or 4 wide receivers and a tight end or runningback they trust to catch the ball. You may see where I'm going with this. In the HML, each team must start 1 QB, 4 WR's, and 1 W/R/T flex. These settings naturally make it so that WR's are extremely valuable in this league, while RB's and TE's have much less value than normal. No kickers or defense in this league; just the six starters, plus four bench players. The small roster will make for easy maintenance; but the uniqueness of the roster will make it unlike almost any other league. The following non-typical scoring is also included in the league, to reflect the goal of Hail Mary usage: 6 points per 40+ yard receiving touchdown (typically: 0) 5 points per passing touchdown (typically: 4) .08 points per rushing yard (typically: .1) All other scoring is standard PPR.
