Must Own RB backup...Rest of season

Ryan Mathews, because based on production this year, he shouldn't really be the backup there.

    Moncrief the real deal?

Wayne and Moncrief is the secondary debate here to me. From what I've seen so far, there is no reason Moncrief should be behind Hakeem Nicks at this point in time. If we want to talk about someone running in molasses, it's Nicks. A 3 WR look of Moncrief on the outside, and HIlton and Wayne working both outside and in the slot would be Indy's best 3 WR look going forward this season. We'll see how long it takes Pep to figure it out.

    Ball sux

Just playing devils advocate, but the points in this conversation about Ball: -looking average -lacking burst -"volume runner" - being able to get what he can after being hit in the backfield -his offensive line being the problem as the vaunted Indy run defence got in the backfield all the time despite the fact they play with great QBs and WR options that theoretically should leave less men in the box sound very familiar to comments made about the Indy RB on the other side of the ball in that game that gets torched on Twitter or on fantasy football message boards after every carry. Believe me, I'm nowhere near burying Ball yet as this is only one game, but from the eye test to me last night, he looked average and CJ Anderson had more burst. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks, but it is something to monitor.

    Dez Bryant

Maybe the Cowboys get smart in the future and have him stop returning punts.

    CJ2K trade request next step?

Without knowing the Packers cap situation, why not them? They have great depth as they showed last year, and a lot of young NFL caliber players that could be included. They could cut Grant and Driver for some extra money. I do realize they have to re-up Rodgers at some point and that's one counter to this idea. REalistically, the Titans aren't trading him.

    Cutler has torn MCL

Absolutely bang on. Great post. This guy was convicted and crucified before ANY facts came out. Pretty scary thought when you think about it.

    Minnesota's Defensive TD

I commish an ESPN league and noticed this a couple years ago when we first started. Points against a team's offence (INT or fumble for TD) should not be counted against the DST's points allowed. What I do every week is make DST adjustments for points allowed by defence/special teams. Ie, in this Philly DST case, their points allowed would drop from 24 to 18 (extra point is against the special teams), and then I'd add the point difference between the points allowed ranges to the GM affected. It's a bit of a pain in the butt to do every week, but there's ways to manage it.

    Welcome To The Semis

12 Team PPR, keeper league, start 2 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, Flex, TE, 2 DEF QB: Freeman QB: Alex Smith (Hasselbeck) WR: Owens WR: Wallace WR: Santana Moss (Bennett, Randy Moss) RB: Chris Johnson RB: Foster TE: Tamme (Keller) Flex: Charles DEF: Saints DEF: Browns (Titans) Debating my WR, just a gut feeling on Bennett this week. Otherwise that's what I'm rolling with.

    You heard it here 1st

For this week, it probably will be Peyton Hillis getting more of the work unless, as Shanahan put it, Tatum was in football shape. Now I know you can stay in shape on your own time...but I'm thinking selling phones on MOnday and then playing in the NFL on Tuesday might make it tough to be in football shape. For the long run I think Tatum is the better play, but if you need a one week plug and play, Hillis is worth a look anyways.

    Make this deal

I own both SJax and Chris Johnson in a keeper league, and our settings are PPR. So I like them both...here's some positives for CJ28....and I think he's more than a scatback as people are saying... 1) The home run ability...he can break one anytime. 2) He runs hard, and low to the ground. He's a better between the tackle runner than most are giving him credit for. 3) The effectiveness as a WR and catching the ball. Maybe this is more important in my league settings, but think...we haven't seen him line-up that much in the slot yet...he's going to be a matchup nightmare. 4) The athletic and talented O-line in Tenneseee. Even though teams don't respect their passing game one bit, this team still runs the ball very well. A credit to their O-Line. 5) The home run ability. Of course, the durability question has not been answered as we're only7 games into his NFL career. So that's a question mark for Johnson. Also, there is the Lendale White factor which reduces his value in non-PPR. So I can see the arguments against. As for this year, I would take SJax the rest of the way. He is the man there, he is also a great receiver out of the backfield, the Rams are improving on O and the schedule the rest of the way is very friendly. Also Johnson may hit a bit of the rookie wall, but Fisher has done a good job rationing his touches so far. In a keeper though...don't sell Johnson's potential short. SJax is still the better keeper...but Johnson has a chance to be something special, health permitting.

    1-3 Teams Out There

Where's the thread for the 0-4 teams like myself??? I'm looking to shake things up here. By no means giving up, but looking a little more towards the future no question. This season has been a disaster so far.

Drafting Defenses based upon playoff schedule

We start 2 DEF in our league and I drafted my second D based on their playoff sched as the 21st D off the board (D's went surprisingly fast this year). I took New Orleans because they play the following: Week 14: Atlanta Week 15: at Chicago Week 16: at Detroit

    Tomlinson....a HUGE Poosay!

Yeah, because that 123 yards rushing, 64 yards recieving and 2 TD performance last year agianst New England was certainly not putting his team on his shoulders. Or, the 140 total yards against the Jets in 2004 was disappearing too. I mean it's his job to go kick game winning FGs too. This year against the arguably the best run D in the league he gets bottled up by the 8-9 in the box but still makes a game changing play that not many RBs in this league can make scoring that TD to clinch the game for San Diego. Fine, he got hurt yesterday. We don't know how severe the injury is as it's the playoffs. If this was the hockey playoffs, it would be described as a "lower body injury". Nobody's gonna know for sure until 3 pm EST on Sunday. Given the fact he's missed what, one game in the last 5 years, I'm thinking he would have been out there if he could. Do some research first before opening your mouth.
