NorthernVike 2,079 Posted May 5, 2015 Just wondering if they send you a shitton of e-mails and try to sell you some service or sumthin?
MDC 5,761 Posted May 5, 2015 Yes and I get an email from them maybe once every month updating my score? That's it.
edjr 5,420 Posted May 5, 2015 Yes. I get no emails from them, because I opted out. if I need anything I'll log in.
IGotWorms 3,216 Posted May 5, 2015 I used creditsesame for a while. Has some decent tools and their sales pitches are all pretty soft -- they "recommend" certain credit cards or mortgage lenders or whatever, supposedly based on your personal profile, but it's pretty easy to ignore the noise. I'd probably still use it if I wasn't worried about yet another Internet site having access to all my personal info/identification.

If they are hacked. everything is encrypted pretty well, you'd hope
hdaddy 17 Posted May 5, 2015 In the past, I have gotten an email from them when a new account is opened/ closed or a credit check is run. Either I've opted out or they stopped sending the emails. I am on there weekly to update the credit scores and review the reports.
WhiteWonder 2,150 Posted May 5, 2015 To get a credit score? I usually use identityguard, get my three scores for free and then call and cancel the service the next day so they don't start billing me monthly. Credit karma easier than doing that?

WhiteWonder 2,150 Posted May 6, 2015 I did it and yeah, much easier. in what way? its free and i dont need to call a day or two later?
NorthernVike 2,079 Posted May 6, 2015 in what way? its free and i dont need to call a day or two later? Both. And they'll send you a weekly update via email if you want. Some decent tools to help fix/maintain your credit. I think they get their money through those if you use them. Not 100% sure about that though. My scores came from two reporting agencies not all three.
Giants Fan 85 Posted May 6, 2015 Do use it. Like it. I think once every 3 months I get an email to "update my credit score" if I have not been active on the site. This October ... 10 years since my bankruptcy. I should, all of a sudden, have really good credit.
edjr 5,420 Posted May 6, 2015 we all know geeks other than GFIAFP have a credit score of 800+
WhiteWonder 2,150 Posted May 6, 2015 Sounds too good to be true? I have great credit, over 800 (not to be stereotypical geek club it's just a fact) so I'm not in the market for any credit repair tools. I've been content just getting my free report per year but if there is a service that offers free monitoring, no string attached then I'm down to give it a try.
