bkbergen 1 Posted November 19, 2009 So I was in San Diego for the weekend w/o access to internet. I accidently deleted by phone contacts and could not call anyone in my league. I wound up playing two players that were on a bye. One was a rb (which I prob would have started Felix Jones 0 points) and the other was a DEF (would have started Hou def 6 points). The total of those two players points were 6 points which would have given my a win by 2 points. My loss may cost another team a possible playoff spot. Should the spots w/ bye week players be replaced retroactively esp the DEF where there was no indecision of who to play due to fairness of the league? It was not like those players were GTD and got stuck with them on my active roster.

With that said, you should have set your line-up in advance of your vacation. I don't know any site that won't let you set your line-up at least a couple weeks in advance. H3ll, if I wanted to, i could set my line-ups through the rest of the season. Only problem would be injuries, but you have at least your line-up in.
Recidivist 1 Posted November 19, 2009 No. I don't know which is more retarded: your focking inability to track the bye weeks of the players on your roster or the fact that you have even asked such a stupid question. I'm guessing your mother drank heavily while you were in utero.

They might even start out by offering it through hotels, so their guests can get on line. One more thing that will help you out...starting next season the NFL will actually announce the bye weeks for each team even before the season starts...instead of making suprise announcements on Sunday mornings like you experienced. With that scheduling insight, you will be able to adjust your lineup before travelling to cities that still don't have internet access!

msudavedawg 5 Posted November 19, 2009 I'm emailing guys in my league to set up our retroactive draft party this weekend. I did not have access to future stats and did not realize LT would suck so bad this year. No way I'm taking him in the 1st round this time.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted November 19, 2009 Instead of going to the library to surf for ghey midget porn, you should have logged into your league and actually gave a crap!!!!!
bkbergen 1 Posted November 19, 2009 Meant to say started Slaton and Hou Def on the bye week. Would have started Felix jones who got zero points and SD Def which had 6 points. You cannot change a lineup retroactively but can add points retroactively. I knew LT would suck that is why I passed on him.
Drizzay 645 Posted November 19, 2009 Tough titties. How the fock do you delete all of your phone contacts?
bkbergen 1 Posted November 19, 2009 Trying to reset the phone and it erased all contacts. Have them back now. I know that if I have seen another team starting a player on bye I switch it so the spot is filled. It protects the integrity of the league. Not really worried about it but it kind of screws over some players.
madd futher mucker 36 Posted November 19, 2009 And then there are leagues that actually have RULES. Such as: an owner is RESPONSIBLE to make sure he has a legal and complete line-up every week. And then there is something called common sense. It also sounds like you are the league commish: "I know that if I have seen another team starting a player on bye I switch it so the spot is filled. It protects the integrity of the league." As commissioner of the league, you CAN call the owner before game-time and let him know his position is on bye. But it is his responsibility to do something about it - not yours. IMO, You should NEVER unilaterally insert a player into the line-up for another owner without his permission. You SHOULD email the owner who left his players in on a bye week just because he didn't care enough to change his line-up (this begins to happen in many leagues this time of year), that continued failure to ffield his best team every week may result in him not being invited back into the league next year. Just some guidance on how this, and many other commissioners would handle the situation.

You are responsible for your team. If you focked up, too bad for you.
